New this morning authorities believe a car seen heater may have helped fuel a deadly fire in south philadelphia. 5300 block every kingsessing avenue late friday night they made quick work of the flames, but later found the male homeowner dead in a upstairs hallway. Fire commissioner Derrick Sawyer say the home did not have working smoke detectors. We looked through the dwelling we found one smoke alarm that was not working. And that smoke alarm was at the top of the basement steps. So you need to have one smoke alarm on each level specially in the sleeping areas. Good reminder for you there. Cause of the fire is under investigation. Authorities are reminding residents to fill kerosene heaters up outside and of course to leave plenty of space around those space heaters. Well, thats not the only fire danger facing home owners in this bitter bitter cold. Eyewitness News ReporterNatasha Brown was in bensalem township bucks county where authorities believe house fire was sparked by a man trying to thawing out frozen pipes. This burned out shell after mobile home is all that remains after Early Morning fire in bensalem. Fire Officials Say the frozen pipes led to the blaze. He attempted to be thawing out the pipes by using heat gun, electric heat gun which in turn ignited the insulation on the under side of his home. Bitter cold temperatures leaving many homeowners to deal with pipes bursting. Fire Officials Say there is a save way to prevent this from happening. So above freezing, you can get out, do something clouds, but the snow coming, those squawls coming in later on, and then tonight we drop down to about 12 degrees, our windchills, way below zero. The wind picking up 40 miles an hour before midnight, 55 miles an hour after midnight. Make sure you have got everything in place to ride this out. And again bring those pets in ex check on your friends neighbors, make sure their Heating Systems are work. We have temperature tomorrow, for you 16. How about sunday night low of 1 degrees . One actual degrees. That could be record setting. And then on monday, 22 degrees, but those windchills could be as low as minus 20. Tuesday, 33 degrees. Do we see chance of snow shower .
