Philadelphia police are searching for a robber this afternoon whom they say stabbed a Business Owner in the face at this store in holmesberg. The it happened in broad daylight right around 11 00 this morning at the we buy gold in the 8,000 block of frankford avenue. Neighbors tell cbs3 Eyewitness News the Business Owner is a kind man has a lot of support around the the neighborhood. I dont understand how people could just strip other peoples property. Nobody deserves what is going on. This neighborhood is really becoming bad. Reporter police described the suspect as a hispanic man about 5 feet five wearing a black jacket, black tie and blue shirt at the time of that attack. He was last seen moving southbound down frankford avenue in a black gmc truck. As for the Business Owner he has been hospitalized but there is in word on his conditions. A man is injured after a gas explosion in ocean county, new jersey. That explosion and fire destroyed a house on 300 block of cooks lane in Point Pleasant beach. A 47 yearold man was rush to the hospital with severe burns. The victim told authorities that he woke up to the smell of gas. He went to the bathroom to turn on the light and that is when the the house went up in flames. This is the second blast in a week in ocean county. In philadelphia the High Temperature so far made it up to 40 degrees. It is still we low normal but it is a break from the bitter cold. Average high is 48 for this time of the year. Now lets take a look the at storm. It doesnt look like much right new but rain over deep south they are catching a break from snow and sleet. That is moving our way. As it does it will encounter colder air. National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather advisory tomorrow afternoon at 3 00 for most of the region highlighted in purple. Developing now concerns arise over an illness at a school in south philadelphia. Parents at shars Wood Elementary School are calling for the principal to authorize a fullfledged cleaning. A student at that school was diagnosed with the cdiff infection and there are claims others have the symptoms. Some parents refused to send their kids to school. I think they should close the school and they should get it all cleaned out, every floor and then the kid should return within three days. The School District says that they are following the citys Health Department guidance and they urged students to wash their hand and stay home if they have symptoms. We will go down to the jersey shore where in ocean city, we are quiet, serene right new but we are in for some snow sleet, even a little bit of freezing rain down the shore by late tomorrow. And, temperatures by 39 you made to it 40 degrees. 8 degrees, by normal. That is closest we have been in a couple days. Right now in allentown 36. Poconos sitting at 27. We have cold to the north and east and south and west milder temperatures in washington and richmond warming up to 50 degrees. Winter weather advisory goes into Effect Tomorrow afternoon for light snow, and, increasing rain and sleet. High pressure will give way to the cloud tomorrow morning and then you can see this ridge of snow, and sleet and rain moving in. It doesnt look like much but when it moves in it will really impact our afternoon and evening commute. This Winter Weather advisory is more for timing than the amount. Icing concerns, coming through during the afternoon and we will change it over to rain during the evening and that continues through wednesday. So more rain expected enduring the day on wednesday. The as far as Ice Accumulation best chance of seeing that would be in the north and west of philadelphia, so please be aware of Ice Accumulation again. Heres the the timing, between 1 00 and 3 00 tomorrow afternoon snow and sleet will be arriving. Just laying down about an inch or less of snow. After about 8 00 that icy mix changes over to rain wednesday we are seeing rain showers, around all day. After about 12 00 a. M. Thursday that rain changes to snow, and then we could see snow falling heavily into thursday. So this may justin for most of the week. Overnight mainly clear, watch for ice because temperatures will be falling back down, to about 20 degrees. During the day tomorrow afternoon snow and sleet and freezing rain change to rain in the evening. High temperature only around 34. Three day forecast, youll watch wednesday we will warm it up. A good day temperature wise but youll still see rain. Late wednesday night into thursday morning, that we could see some snow.
