Temperatures hovering around freezing this morning we have an eye on slippery conditions that may affect your morning plans. Carol has the latest on the forecast coming up next. Plus this. Spring begins where winter left off with a blanket the of snow in the the northeast. Im Lauren Lister in new york with that story coming it is first full day of spring but instead of green grass and bright flowers our area is blanketed in white snow and we are not alone. A as cbs news correspondent Lauren Lister reports millions of people in the northeast experienced this spring snow. Reporter snow fell again in the northeast and yet another winter storm brought frozen misery to millions all ready tired of it. Several inches fell across pennsylvania, new jersey, and new york where winter weary residents are looking for spring. Inconvenient, sure . A annoying you bet. Unusual . No. I think it is just wearing on everybody but this is normal sorry. Reporter the good news late winter storms dont usually amount to much or last long. The atmosphere is trying to get things going. Usually less damaging then dead of winter because of the cold temperatures. Reporter this late winter storm could not have gone later since winter ended at 6 45 eastern time. That means it is now spring according to the calendar anyway. So it is officially spring. How is your springing so far. It is a little blizzardy. It is very cold for spring. Not too many spring flowers like i hoped. Reporter at this point what are you doing to deal with the fact that it is spring but it is still snowing. I dont know. Reporter with this winters last gasp, dont be so sure. We have seen april snow for sure. We have not seen any may snow. In maybe one more month, potentially right now one more but i cannot rule it out. Reporter in new york Lauren Lister for cbs3 Eyewitness News. I dont want to hear anything about april snow. Lets just cut it off here in march. I say winter good bye, snow. So disappointed looking out and seeing that snow. It was pretty, i will say. That i know you wont. At the end of the winter there is nothing press bye snow and having to go through that melting process and shoveling, slipping, sliding. We may be doing that again this morning. The thinks boardwalk in ocean city. The light are reflecting on the wood so you have some wet boardwalk down there. We also have some Winter Weather advisories covering that area we will head out to the palmyra cove nature park. Not so much there but camera there overlooking delaware, city of philadelphia, 30 degrees. The obviously it is a temperature profile that is a tricky one as long as there is precipitation around and there has been, 32 in philadelphia we have 32 in millville. Thirtyfour in wildwood. Thirtytwo Atlantic City. Twentynine in trenton. 30 degrees in allentown. Everyone of these locations i will be careful with taking that first step and driving on the secondary road because we could find black ice out there. Right along the the immediate shoreline these temperatures are slightly milder influenced by the ocean that is up to 38 degrees but still all along there uncovered by that Winter Weather advisory you have to pay a lot of attention and this is area covered by it and it is new jersey. If you are in new jersey pay particular a attention this morning as you start out the the day but even to the north and west you pick up some 7 inches of snow in some areas north and west of philadelphia, only 5 inches of snow through some sections of new jersey so obviously a a lot have of moisture is out there. It was that wet heavy snow as well. So there is a a lot of moisture and a lot of melting that will be going on today. This is a look right now and you can see we are continuing to find that fine mist in some areas. Temperatures below freezing. That is not a good recipe for being safe. So be very careful out there low pressure gone, today we have got temperatures, what, 50 degrees . This is more like it is in the first day of spring. This is in advance of the very weak cool front that comes down here that does drop our temperatures tomorrow but 50 today, let the melting begin and i think some will. Tonight we will drop down around that freezing mark again. We have to be careful for any refreeze. Tomorrow were in the 40s. Monday were in the 40s but sunnies out. Our future weather, we put this in motion do note that is precipitation can linger this morning but by the time we hit 11 00 oclock we have some sun and cloud. This computer model does want to bring in a feature of rain. They dont all agree with that but this one says we might see that and this one is often right. We have no weather problems at all. The just watch out for temperatures very close to the freezing mark as we go through this afternoon along these shore areas where it is inland in new jersey where there could be a problem 506789 today otherwise this afternoon totally different look 50 at the shore. Poconos 42 degrees. Not a bad a afternoon coming after all of the preup nation that we have seen. It should be nothing added to this with that 50degree temperature today. Tonight we will drop down to 32 degrees. Watch out for refreeze. Tomorrow, 45 sun, monday tuesday, 46, sun. The wednesday, finally temperatures at normal, 55 degrees. Could be some showers with that 62degree temperature but not a bad week, nicole. Carol thanks. It was an emotional home coming for local families, two and a half years after hurricane sandy.
