Reporter nicole and ukee hundreds of people stopping by here many describing this as fascinating and extremely sad, earlier this afternoon the whale washed up on the beach here right around 20th street in sea isle, chopper three was over the scene as experts from the Marine Mammal stranding center from brigantine came down here to try to determine what was going on with the whale. The best they can tell it is a 33foot long juvenile male, hump back whale, which arrived heres mace eighthed but they cannot tell a cause of death just by looking at the whale. They believe it was floating in the ocean for anywhere from four to five days before it washed up on the beach here. Typically, this whale at this age would have been, with its mother, out at sea, but as of right now they are trying to determine if there are any other whales that are associated with this one. Most common cause of death according to experts being hit by a boat the but they are not sure yet. They have to perform a autopsy but they have drug the whale away from the surf.
