Lazy eye is one of the most common causes of visual impairment in children affecting three to 5 percent of kid in the united states. Lazy eye not only has deficits in vision but it causes deficits in 3d perception, reading and fine motor skills. Reporter standard treatment involves patching the opposite eye to force lazy eye to work harder. New Research Shows an ipad game might be better, it is played with special glasses that sent High Contrast images to the stronger eye and then low contrast pictures to the weaker eye. In order to play the game, the child has to work the weaker eye as well as work both eyes, together. We found that of the two week visit children who had ipad game improved vision much more than children who passed. Both groups improved two lines of vision on the letter chart. And about 40 percent of the children covered normal vision. Reporter researchers say new game is promising addition to existing treatment to lazy eye, and more games, tv shows and movies can be used as a treatment in the future. So we park over there in that field and that became, a dollar car for about another 25 years. You have people here, coming, with their children, and their grandchildren and maybe their childrens grandchildren, what kind of legacy is that for to you see these people come back every year. Must be incredible to hear. It is very, very rewarding and i have had so many cases of people that have come, and you know, they say thinks my 56th year and here it was the sun and then his son was there and the grandson was there and the mother was there which made it absolutely beautiful.
