So Lancaster County is under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning. These strong cells are moving in berks county head up in to reading, seeing light rain across Lehigh Valley but heavier rain just up wind that will be building in for you as we head into the next hour. Storm Prediction Center is talking about possibility of issuing a severe watch for parts of the Delaware Valley so stay tuned for that. We are in a slight risk of Severe Weather, philadelphia and surrounding counties, stretching backup in the northwestern suburbs, berks county and part of the Lehigh Valley. The shore were under marginal risk for Severe Weather. It is beautiful right now we will keep a close eye to the sky and ill keep my eye on radar as we head into the evening and overnight period as this marginal risk will continue, and so what to expect for tonight . Watching for possibility of strong storms, scattered in nature, some drenching downpours as we are seeing tropical moisture building in to our atmosphere, main threat will be damaging wind, cant rule out possibility of small hail and isolated spin off tornado. We have sun in some areas. He remembers sea isle before the storm, when his family would pack up the car and travel him from philadelphia in the 1950s. We came down here the day after school ended, never put a sheet on just to go to church. Reporter in those days Sea Isle City was a small destination on the water built to house and entertain those looking for warm sand and cool ocean breezes. But the community, grew up long before those family vacations, thanks to found are charles kay landis. The air just fell all over the country. Mr. Handis had five agents and one years time he owned the entire island. Started selling properties in may of 1881, and he started selling them, i think he sold like 400 properties that summer. A town that continues to thrive, and one that continues to draw those seeking sun, and serenity. It is a spiritual concept. Humidity levels are climbing up there approaching about 80 percent, but not everyone is in the clear, right now, in fact, National Weather service has just issued a severe thunderstorm watch for a large portion of the Delaware Valley that does include pretty much every where west of i95, it does include Philadelphia County, up in the western suburbs, berks county, Lehigh Valley and up in the poconos as well, this runs until 10 00 s are favorable for the possible development of Severe Weather, so we will say Severe Weather aware. Storm scan three showing us strong thunderstorm activity working its way through parts of the berks county up in the Lehigh Valley as well as some rain over spreading in the poconos and we will continue to see that trend of storms developing, from the west, and moving on east, we did have a severe thunderstorm watch for central pennsylvania and now that has been extended, into parts of the Delaware Valley. And temperatures right now we do have the warmth, we also have some rain cooled air we are at 89 in philadelphia, but 79 degrees, after some rain rolling through the reading area down to 83 degrees, in allentown but still up in the 80s in atlantic city. Dew points are way elevated definitely have surface moisture a big difference as far as that steam factor from yesterday and today, because dew points are in the low to mid to upper 70s and that steaminess is going to stay with us through the evening overnight before it starts to wayne as we head into late day tomorrow but overnight tonight , you need to keep an eye to the sky, showers, thunderstorms especially west of i95 for first part of the overnight period and then spreading east as we head late into tonight. Saturday we will see a tough start effort to day. Moisture working in from Tropical Storm cindy is going to enhance our rain chances, period of heavy rain for saturday morning, widespread in nature but by afternoon and tomorrow evening, sunshine breaking out so get grilling plans saturday evening you are looking all right but breakfast indoors and maybe not outdoors for your saturday outdoors.
