Just kind of unbelievable this time of the year we are finding temperatures that are that cold but we are. On ff is celebrating this morning in ocean city. Good morning alexandria. Reporter good morning, nicole, celebration is right this is kind of the day i love my job. We saw most beautiful sunrise here over the boardwalk. The it is setting stage for what will be a really, really Great Holiday weekend. I was down yesterday. People were getting an early start. We are expect to go see crowd out here soon up and down the boardwalk. We have early risers getting in their jogs and what not. Maybe they can relax the rest of their day. There will be a big group here in the relaxing at all in a couple of hours. Im here with amy. She head up the memorial day beach challenge. You have 500 people getting ready to head out here. So last night at 1 00 a. M. Registrations at 499 so im sure there is people that got up earlier then i did and gone on line and registered. We have a couple of events happening today. That is a cumulative of we will be over 500. Wow, so this is a real challenge. There will be people in the water, doing Obstacle Courses crawling through the sand. Is what the point of all this. We are here to raise fund for 31 heroes project Navy Seal Foundation and Travis Manion foundation. We are 100 percent volunteers. Every single one of us is here because we want to teach a new generation what the memorial day is about and help our veterans and families of the fallen. New this morning a four car crash on the the schuylkill expressway, leaves one person dead. This is new video just back from the scene, it happened just before 5 00 in the eastbound lanes of i76 a at passyunk avenue. Crash investigation has several lanes tied up at this hour. Fire fighters made quick work of the fire in the 1500 block of South Broad Street overnight, flames broke out just after 3 00 in the three story home. Officials tell Eyewitness News there were no injuries but one resident has been displaced, the fires cause remains under investigation. Flames, plumes of dark black smoke could be seen for miles, Fire Fighters battled a fire at old sunoco refinery in south philadelphia. This all happened on the the three you this block of pen rose avenue just before 6 00 oclock. Refinery is now known as Philadelphia Energy solutions girard point. Chopper three was over the the fire fight as crews sprayed water on the flames. Officials say that a pump seal failed causing crude oil to burn. No injuries were reported. A 23 yearold man is recovering after being shot in the leg in west philadelphia. This happened just before 11 00 oclock friday night at 55th and market. Victim was rushed to Presbyterian Hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. Were told detective found several shell casing at the the scene and so far no arrests. And now to the very latest on the amtrak tragedy cbs news is reporting engineer Brandon Bostian could Face Criminal Charges if investigate thors find he was negligent in the crash of train 188. Lawyers suggest charges under review range from third degree murder tore reckless endangerment. Well africanamerican soldiers buried in a long forgotten cemetery in camden were honored in the dedication ceremony on friday. Johnson Memorial Park was rediscovered by a group of students from the urban promise school. The the students uncovered grave stones cleaning up that park. More than 120 civil yard veterans were buried a at that site. Well, is there now a new fun, aint active way to learn about our nations history. New program launched on friday called once upon a nation. The it the brings you back to the revolutionary war with historical reinact. And theme tours. Eyewitness news at Rittenhouse Square where continental soldiers, brought children and adults in the arm which muskets. The series of events runs all summer long. In jenkintown, Montgomery County thousands took part in color day. Check this out the the annual event dates back to 1937 wearing either red or blue competitors face off in various track and field events and it is just a school field day, the entire town gets involved in this. Families are assigned a color when they move to jenkintown and generations of families wear that color each and every color day. Pretty good stuff carol. On sunday, still clear skies and then no rain, and then by the time we will get to monday a couple of cloud, and it is not that we dont need a little bit of rain around here but were not getting this it this weekend and if this skips us, it might as well skip us on Holiday Weekend. By tuesday we are looking at fairly nice weather but it starts to warm up every single day. The ocean temperature just in case you are tempt todd put your toes in. Lets average it out around 60 degrees or so for the the ocean temperatures, over the the next day or so. Seventytwo in philadelphia. Sixtyfour at the shore. Poconos, 65 degrees. Neurosurgeon doctor charles lou performed brain surgery on sortam two years ago at tech hospital at u. S. C. He implanted electrodes in the brain where the intent to make a movement is form. It had never been done before, there was a leap of faith in terms of just seeing it, if these were the right areas.
