Kathleen kane and her legal team are set to arrive to the Montgomery County courthouse Tuesday Morning to plead her case. Both sides set to begin opening arguments in the perjury trial of pennsylvania first woman and first democrat elected attorney general. Kane is accused of felony perjury by leaking secret grand jury details to the media and reportedly lying about it under oath. She also faces misdemeanor charges of obstruction, official impression, conspiracy, false swearing. Over several hours, some 100 potential jurors were vetted behind closed doors monday. Answering a list of questions including if they would struggle deciding kanes case. Or if they had ties to her office. Law enforcement or potential witnesses. Convicted philly mafia boss joey merlino is expected in a florida courtroom this morning. The judge will decide if he get bail. Merlino seen on the left there was arrested by federal authorities last week as part of an alleged organized crime ring. Merlino spent a dozen years in prison on a federal racketeering conviction. He was released in 2011. This latest bus comes as part of a crackdown on two of new yorks long standing mafia families. Philadelphia police are investigating a dozen robberies. They all happened in the past three months. Investigators say, the home invasions targeted asian Business Owners who live above their shops. Police believe these are the men responsible caught on this surveillance video. The latest happened yesterday morning, 5100 block of haverford avenue. Police say all but one of the breakins happened between 4 00 and 6 00 in the morning. Police say a car speeding down the street possibly racing another car hit the passenger side of the car caring the toddler. The child was thrown through the back passenger window. She was taken to st. Christopher hospital where she died. The 17 year old driver of the other car was transported to temple in stable condition. Philadelphia police may have found the murder weapon in deadly shooting in the somerdale section of the city. Police say 45 year old man was shot several times at close range on the 1,000 block of alcott street. He died from his injuries. A postal worker found the gun inside a mailbox about three blocks away. The feds are not going to prosecute four people arrested during the Democratic National convention. Instead, the protesters will face local charges. Three women and one man were arrested july 26th. The police say they jumped over security fence. There are still no details on what local charges the four protesters will face, but seven other alleged fence jumpers continue to work their way through the federal system. A k9 officer found the body of Vanessa Marcott in the woods princeton, 40 miles west of boston. She was reported missing after failing to return from a sunday afternoon walk.
