Officers responded to the accident scene around midnight on the 3500 block of east crown avenue in northeast philadelphia. Authorities say that two people were trapped after their car hit a park car. Police tell Eyewitness News one person remains in critical condition. Well, seven people are displayed this morning after an overnight fire in north philadelphia. Fire fighters responded to the scene on the 5,000 block of d street just before 4 00 a. M. Red cross is working to help the adults and three children displaced all while fire investigators spark those flames. Reporter good morning, nicole. Pennsylvania Health Officials will begin to monitor travelers from three west african countries starting tomorrow. They will be actively followed for 21 days to see if they develop ebola. Pennsylvania is one of six states around the country set to begin monitoring, people, traveling from one of these west african countries. Liberia, new gunie, sierra leon has seen the most cases. Passenger must travel will through one of five designated airports, with newark air part and jfk being the the two closest to our region. When this arrive in pennsylvania they will to have check in dale which county or state Health Officials to see if ebola symptoms develop. Hup will be designated as a Treatment Center for affect Health Care Workers and in the process of building an air tight isolation unit. In their first interviews hospital nurses tell 60 minutes how they held the hand of the dying ebola patient Thomas Duncan because his family could not. I was very frightened, i was, and i just dried my tears, rolled down my sleeves so to speak and went on about my night. Eric duncan came in the hospital september the 25th with the low grade fever and was sent home, but three days later he was back with the temperature of 103. Nurse John Mulligan treated duncan in his final hours, in intensive care. By the time, i saw him on october 1st, his nausea and vomiting had pretty much subsided that aspect of it was over. He had a rectal tube in place, he was so weak he could not get up to go anymore. That was to help contain all of tis very vicious body fluid that is we were dealing with. On the first day he didnt say much. You could look in his eyes and tell he just couldnt feel g we of him words of encourage. We let him know that were here. Whatever you need, let us know and we will get it. We held his hand and talked to him and comforted him because his family just could not be there. Transport Workers Union local 234 represents bus drivers, subway and trolley operators. The they have been working without a contract since march. There is no word when they will walk out if that strike is authorized but septa tells Eyewitness News that no strike is imminent. Septa released this statement saying quote parties continue to meet in negotiation to reach an agreement. Although the union scheduled a strike vote for the the weekend we have been given no indication that the work stoppage is imminent. Service interruption plan will be released if and when the situation changes. Meanwhile Philadelphia Police are looking for two people wantedded in connection to a vital crime in queen village. Investigators say a hand and woman approached would the man walking on carpenter street. According to police woman struck the victim with the baseball bat in the chest and man fired two shots at that victim as he tried to get away. The neighbor says police told them that the victim was a suspect in car burglar is in that area and it could have been a form of retaliation. He started looking in the cars, trying to break into cars and then he gets attacked. Police would not confirm the crime was in fact retaliation, they did however tell Eyewitness News that when 29 suspects approached that victim one of them shouted quote we know what you did before that attack began. Well, three people are injured in the serious crash in limerick, montgomery county. Suv and car collided on route 422 near lewis road. Crash caused all four lanes to be shut down on saturday evening. A helicopter transported one of the victims to the hospital. The cause of the crash is still being investigated. An Apartment Fire displaced 17 people in philadelphia Tioga Nicetown neighborhood. Flames tore through the the building on the 3800 block of north 15th street saturday afternoon. Eyewitness news was there as fire officials worked to determine the cause of that fire, there were no injuries and the red cross ace cyst continuing displaced residents. Philadelphia Police Arrested a man in the wheelchair whom they say stole money from a donation jar at a wawa store. Incident happened near delaware and tasker in south philadelphia saturday morning. Well, police in merriesville washington say though dont know why a freshman opened fire on his teenage friend and family members at school on friday. Reporter a steady stream of students, placed flowers and balloons on the fence outside merriesville pillchuck High School Saturday following fridays deadly shooting. It is bringing us all together. We are all supporting each other because we know how tough it is. How scary it was. Reporter witnesses say Jaylen Fryberg walk in the School Cafeteria and shot at people he knew. One girl died, four other student were seriously wounded. Family members say two of the victims boys were popular freshmans cousins. They all went to the prom together. They all got pictures together last saturday. They did everything. Went to dinner. God knows what escalated it. Reporter just a week ago fryberg was home coming prince. He fatally shot himself. They recovered a 40 caliber hand gun. Authorities are still working on the the motive but one student told investigators that fryberg had recently gotten into a fight with another boy over a girl. Classmates admit they are still in shock. It feels like it is not real, not our school any more. Reporter all sports and activities at the high school are canceled this weekend and there will be no classes here next week.
