We will talk about that, coming up, nicole. Carol, thank you. New this morning Philadelphia Police are investigating a homicide in the hunting park neighborhood. Unidentified black man was shot in the head there. This happened at 3600 block of warknock street around 3 00 this morning. He died at the scene. Police are looking for that shooter. Also new this morning a shooting in camden, new jersey a man was shot multiple times just after midnight. Police found him wounded in the 1200 block of everette street. He was rushed to the hospital for shrapnel wound from the gun blast. There is no word on his condition or a suspect at this time. Also a septa bus driver is assaulted while driving the route 54 bus. It happened shortly for one at 22nd and lehigh avenue. Investigators say two black males jumped on the bus, assaulted the driver and then jumped off and fled in the White Mercedes benz. Car had pennsylvania tags and last seen traveling down 23rd street. The passengers were transported to another bus, that driver sustained minor injuries. Well, over 3,000 cyclist are pedaling to fight cans they are morning. The fortySecond AnnualAmerican Cancer Societys bikeathon is now underway. Eyewitness News ReporterSyma Chowdhry is live at ben franklin bridge where they took off, a half an hour ago, right syma. Reporter that is right, nicole a half an hour ago, it was much different. Very, very quiet. I have never been able to stand here at the base of the ben franklin bridge but i can now because the air is is still closed. It will be opening up to drivers 7 15. We have video of what it looked like a half an hour ago when the bikeathon started. This is more than 3,000 people participating in this event, and, of course, the survivors, a group of survivors, started the race first and then after that it was other cyclist who know someone or related to someone or just has a soft heart, soft spot in their heart for the American Cancer Society. Now they are hoping to raise about 1. 3 million this morning. This is the fortySecond Annual event. Over the years they have raised about 20 milliondollar in the battle against cancer. Now we have spoke to one man who has been cycling at this event for about ten years and this is what he told me. I mean it is a wonderful thing to ride with survivors and ride with people who have survived cancer and come back here year after year after year to participate. Of course, having to be a part of over 3,000 people riding over ben franklin bridge and riding from here to south jersey is just an awesome experience. Reporter so, they are traveling, 65 miles, from here, to buena, new jersey. There is a few rest stops on the way. There is also a few starter spots. So if anyone didnt want to start on the whole 65 miles over here they can start at a different location and the riders consisted of kids just as young as nine years old all the way to people in the 80s. It was a fun event. Great to see comradery, lot of people had tears in their eyes because they were remembering somebody. It was a very great event. Now, the event itself, the ride, they call it a ride, in the a race, is supposed to end around 10 30. After that they will have some ceremonies, and zoo fun things on that side of the events. Eyewitness News Reporter matt rivers spoke to one gaming expert who says closure of trump plaza may be what Atlantic City needs to get back on track. Reporter Atlantic City cold streakings on with the announcement that the trump place a boardwalk stapel since 1984 will likely close down. Its owners toll the Associated Press that while no final decisions have been made its doors will likely close september 16th taking over 1,000 jobs witt. It is sad, were coming down for girls weekend and it is a ghost town. Reporter the casino has been struggling for some time now. Gambling revenues down 27 percent since last year when it only took in 73 milliondollar. It is a shame it is really dead. We just came back from the tropical can, it is nothing happening down there. Not a lot of gambling going on. Reporter trump plaza is hardly alone in the struggles. The Atlantic Club shut down earlier this year. Show boat is closing august 31st and revel could soon follow if the buyer isnt found. Between those four casinos alone, 7,000 employees have either lost their jobs or could lose them soon. That is nearly one in four of all of the casino workers in Atlantic City and this all happen since january 1st. The weakest companies were the ones in the the news right the now. Act or comedian Tracie Morgan has been released from a Rehab Facility one month after a multi vehicle pile up left him critically injured. A spokesperson says morgan will continue to recover at home with an aggressive outpatient program. Morgan suffered a broken leg, nose, and ribs on june 7th when a walmart tractor trailer slammed in his limo van on the new jersey turnpike. James mcnair was killed in that crash. We have also learned morgan is now suing walmart. Alleged that the retail giant allowed truck driver kevin rope tore drive despite being awake for more than 24 hours, causing him to fall asleep at the wheel. Now in response to the lawsuit, walmart said in a statement quote we are deeply or that i one of our trucks was involved. We know that it will take sometime to resolve all of the remaining issues as a result of the accident, but were committed to do the right thing for all involved. Well, some of the area finest Fire Fighters face off for friendly competition. The Montgomery County water battle returned to Montgomery County on at day. Several hundred volume tire Fire Fighters from 14 different departments competed in tug of war and barrel on the war events.
