The state Department Inspector general released a report on the worlds most famous private email system while serving as secretary of state. The scathing report confirms a lot of things that we already knew. Also she was not the only secretary of the state to do government business on a personal account. This tough report written by Barack Obamas government told us some new and important things. Some of her aids did not cooperate with the investigation. They had told it was reviewed and approved. There was no evidence it was reviewed or approved. The clinton camp said nothing to see here. Republicans, of course, were quick to jump on the news and condemn the democratic frontrunners judgment. Yes, those questioning her judgment include donald j. Trump, billionaire. As i say crooked hillary, crooked hillary. Shes as crooked as they come. She had a little bad news today from some reports came down werent so good. The inspector generals report, not good. I want to run against hillary. I just want to run against her. Im a big fan of the First Amendment and that includes the right of speakers to speak. If this continues day in and day out, it will be part of the Clinton Campaign trying to paint him as a chaos candidate. I think it rallies his base. I think his conduct in those clips is not winning formula. Its trump being trump. He can be trump in some other way. It does rally his base. They will pay more attention to it than people who are voting on other issues. I think his base is already rallied and will be for a long time. I dont think that helps him again. What i keep thinking about, who are the persuadable voters. Who are the people on the fence and who will movable . Do they look at that donald trump . That mocking donald trump. That behavior mocking, bullying. You can think they are within their rights to protest, which i do. They are not allowed to disrupt. The bottom line is just that its inflaming it rather than trying to tamp it down. D hes said and done things outrageous. I think its probably not helpful. Im not obsessing about it. Images like this if they play out through the fall the images themselves . I think both. I think his reaction is not helpful for him and i think the images are bad. I dont love his reaction. Donald trump is working on another brand. Trump has been pretty successful so far at consolidating support inside the party. The latest news is key and reported first by our bloomberg colleague. The house speaker, paul ryan, is saying hes ready to end his stand off and endorse him as the partys nominee. He said he still hasnt made up his mind but a spokesman told Bloomberg Politics that the speaker will talk by phone. If ryan does endorse trump, how will that impact any cal cue g calculations romney has about getting in this race and going after trump. I dont know how seriously hes thinking about getting in this race. In any scenario it would be a race decided in the house of representatives. Not that he would get to 270 electoral votes and having paul ryan be speaker of the house and be on his side would make securing the presidency in that farfetched scenario would make it easier than having ryan be an official trump backer. I think the stop trump movements rest primarily on if mitt romney decides to do this. I think it becomes mump harder. Its already hard for people in the antitrump movement to say im this but a lot of people i like and respect are endorsing trump, et cetera. For romney to say this is a moral outrage, the notion that donald trump is our nominee and could be president when the guy he picks as a running mate endorses him. I think it would cut the legs out from romneys moral position that he wants to take into the race if he gets in. I think its completely right. Very difficult for romney in this instance. I cant help but wonder how lonely romney feels. He went out far on the limb and took a stance of real principle and some bravery and now he looks around and sees all of these people who he thought were including a lot of his big kn donors. They have not only flocked to trump but abandoned romney and now hes looking at the possibility that ryan may do the same. Very hard. All right. I dont know that her presence will do anything to sanders head. It helps with clinton. In the end its still about what Bernie Sanders want and hes still more key to unify than she is. Youve made your peace with the idea of trump as nominee, right . Just explain your thinking how you came from being pretty strongly antitrump to being supportive of him. A couple of things. Number one, its a given. Hes going to be the nominee. I heard a bit of your show prior to think and i think you agree with me. Number two, he brought in this excitement and a whole group of new people into the party. Theres a lot of polls out there that say these arent really new people and some gentlemen that you guys work with have been promoting that theory. I think he has brought excitement and interest and newness to this race and now all he has to do is pick up the establishment. All these people the Republican Party has been trying to get, he got. He missed the solid regulars. He missed the john kasichs. Thats where the work comes. Theyre going to be easier to get than the add ons because nobody has been able to tuouch them. You call yourself a conservative, right . Right. By what measure do you think trump is a conservative . I have to say hes a republican. Thats all i can say. We have heard liberal things, moderate things and conservative things. Who knows what he really is. Thats what elections are about. I think people like you will push until we know what the real donald trump is like. Youve had a lot of clients, republican clients for statewide office and other offices.
