The correction officers an officers forearm. It says two officers were assaulted by an inmate who got out of his cell early this morning when his door was open to retrieve his meal tray. A scalpel blade was recovered from that scene. On Eyewitness News at 11 00 we will hear from the president of the officers union. Police are investigating an attack on the subway as a possible hate crime. Investigators say the attacker made antigay remarks as he stabbed a man several times on in Morningside Heights last night around 7 30 at the 110th street and broadway station.
