Lets return to the local weather story right now. So we made it past this first round. Right. And there are still so many moving parts. No question about it and i think a lot of people already have tunnel vision toward joaquin and the imminent threat of that. Obviously, you know, sandy comes to mind, you see some of these tracks of a left turn, thats not what we are forecasting at this time. You know, the cone certainly has us in it right now, thats not what we are forecasting. Go outside right now where we have what is a cloudy sky for the most part but a couple of thin spots in the clouds and what you notice is that warm, muggy, sticky wind, thats turning into a cooler wind, a little less humid and little more of a falllike pattern and now so long 80s. At least a better looking sky right now and a dry commute home for most. So we are at an even 70, the humidity still on the high side but dropping. North winds gusting to 17 and the pressure starting to rise a little bit and the high temperature, thats actually from maybe overnight and yesterday in the upper 70s. So 66 degrees kingston right now, poughkeepsie at 66, the cool air coming into the catskills, 70 in yonkers and its 67 in norwalk. On long island 67 and belmar is coming in at 70, 72 in west orange, new jersey so pretty good wind now for all locations. That means that the front is essentially through everywhere but montauk that has a southwest wind so just the cold front on the eastern end of long island ready to slip to our south. So really its all about a lot of cloud cover this evening on the cool side, 6 57, 60 at midnight, 50s tomorrow morning, and mainly cloudy through tomorrow with a cool breeze and nothing more than a sprinkle, maybe a brief shower or some drizzle around the area. You notice we have a couple spotty showers here, thats the cold front going through and a couple of sprinkles in the wake of that front. I dont think the main clearing line gets here, we just stay mainly cloudy. The front is going to hang up along the coast and rain that develops with an area of low pressure here is going to ride up that front. But if you notice with these where these arrows are, the heaviest rain going to be along north and west we are looking at lighter rainfall amounts when this gets cranked up on friday. Watch this longterm futurecast. You can see how the rain is offshore and we fast forward to thursday afternoon and see how that low develops, comes up the coast and during the day on friday its raining and there could probably be an inch of rain on the coast, maybe more to the south but north and west may be very little. Eventually the rain shifting back west on friday night, early saturday and lighter rain in the day on saturday and then start to track what will happen with joaquin. Right now an impressive looking storm, we are going to get the new update within about half an hour. Its still going into the central bahamas right now or tracking toward there. 85mileperhour winds. This is the most recent track from the Hurricane Center which will be updated again over the next 30 minutes. Its forecast to become a strong reporter 2 hurricane category 2 hurricane, winds around 125 Miles Per Hour. Thursday evening it will stitt still around the bahamas or take the turn and start heading toward the u. S. Main land. So its likely to be a category 3 hurricane, a major hurricane for a while, potential to go into the carolina, midatlantic coast, i know it looks like we are in the center of this cone right now but we are favoring this western side of the cone here, i hesitate to put the icons on here that makes it look like its coming into the tristate area which is still in that cone right now but if you look at the computer models, look how they are concentrated on the mid atlantic and the carolinas so thats the track we are favoring right now. Breezy and cooler tomorrow, 62 degrees, sort of in between systems and we get the rain coming back tomorrow night into friday. Cooler and damp, plenty of clouds tonight but nothing more than a sprinkle. The yankees will play. 55. 62 tomorrow, bit of rain, mainly along the coast later in the day. Much of the day is just mostly cloudy. You dont even need the umbrella most of the time but rain coming in later tonight especially along the coast. Coming up at 4 30, how far inland is that rain going to come and even if joaquin is to go into the midatlantic or carolinas, how much can we be spared of some of this heavy rain into the weekend. Have a little bit more insight in at 4 30 and because my weather is closing in at 5 00 during our show, might get the advisory from the Hurricane Center. We have new developments in a deadly crash involving Caitlyn Jenner, what prosecutors are saying today about potential criminal charges. Plus this.
