Cars in the southbound lanes are starting to move once again of the i want to show you the scene out here. You can see things starting to move slowly. Just awhile ago though we spoke with a man who was an eyewitness. He saw what was taking place here. He got out of his car and attempted to then those who were suffering. Humvee and three soldiers were trapped. I ran back to my truck, got ply jack. I ran back over, attempted to try and jack the front of the vehicle up to get some room to try and free the one soldier and we couldnt get it underneath. I kept looking trying to flag down vehicles to see if anyone had a floor jack and i flagged down a construction vehicle. A guy had a couple heavy duty pry bars and we were able to move the week enough to get the one soldier out. Obviously a really scary situation there, that man jumping in to help moments later. Personnel did begin to arrive on scone. You can see here the accident still needs to be cleaned up but traffic is moving once lanes, at least to some extent. Now a deadly fire in the bronx. Investigators saying burning incense was the cause of the fire that killed two little girls that had had been left home alone. The video shows their panicked mother running from the laundromat across the street as she realized that was happening. Eyewitness News Reporter darla miles is in the clairmont section with more. Reporter im hearing this mother walked out of the laundromat and almost did a double take as if she was in disbelief her apartment was really on fire. We are told at the same time someone who lives in the the family could not get in because the door was locked and right now this mother is home she went to the laundry and wash her clothes. She was about to come back quick but it takes long there. Reporter a 26yearold mother pregnant with her third child and now preparing to bury her first and second born. They know that nobody want to do this. But it happened. Reporter what happened is that her two little girls, a 2 yearold and an 18monthold perished in a fire while their mother was across the street doing laundry, seen in the Surveillance Video obtained by Eyewitness News. Horrible. It was horrible. We watched them a crowd of us watched them two little kids come out. The first one was looking like a pet. The Mother Told Police she thought another adult was in the apartment when she left but home alone when police say unattended incense started the fire. A Family Member who lives in the same building ran to the burning apartment at butler houses and dried to get the girls out but did not have a key. But that time firefighters had already arrived and the expectant mother was leaving the laundromat to run home. She collapsed when she came out because she was not allowed up there and then she just passed out. She just laid there. Reporter the smooth spent quite a bit of time talking to investigators. She has been released. No charges have been filed. That may happen at a later date. It depends upon the District Attorney and possibly a grand jury. Darla miles channel 7 Eyewitness News. Firefighters are on the scene of some sort of explosion at a business. Blast, followed by a fire at a fragrance business in an Industrial Complex this afternoon. The mayor tells us one person was injured, although it is not known how badly injured. Firefighters are now inspecting the building and trying to determine what caused the blast. A hearing was called to determine if a juror in le yangs trial misrepresented himself during jury selection. Le yangs attorney is making the argument the juror is prejudiced against police and they are now calling for a mistrial. Reporter this was traveling southbound on the turnpike when the right front tire blew out, causing it to overturn. We did have four soldiers on board, three were trapped. The female soldier had a leg amputation at the scene. We did have two medevacs at the scene and because of that all lanes were shut down on the inner and outer lanes of the roadway.
