Within the last half hour, the nypds crime scene unit wrapped up the investigation and the area behind me where the reopened. The 34yearold victim this morning is in stable condition now heres cell phone video from last night showing medics preparing to rush the victim to the hospital. At around 8 20 last night the victim who was a volunteer medic with the Crown Heights hatzolah was stabbed. That stabbing happening at Eastern Parkway and rogers avenue. The victim says his attacker approached him from behind and slashed his neck and never said a word before running away. Investigators searched the area for a weapon and also looking for that suspect who was possibly wearing a mask. Now this section of Crown Heights has a very high jewish population. So some are wondering for the victim was targeted because hes jewish. With this stabbings that are taking place in israel. We cannot be relaxed when you investigate something of this magnitude. If you determine if its a hate came and we news crime and we need to use all the video footage and everything we can to apprehend the person responsible. Reporter again, the 34year old victim is a volunteer medic and he was offduty at the time of the stabbing but he had his radio so he was able to call for help right away when that stabbing happened. Police are now trying to figure out if he was targeted. 9yearold thai tytyshawn lee was killed on monday. An argument was taking place when gunshots rang out.
