He is here at the 13th Police Precinct being held in part because a few people recognized him yesterday Walking Around midtown and quickly waved down Police Officers who eventually found bazemore and arrested him. The video shows the suspect, now believed to be bazemore walking alongside a woman and suddenly and randomly slashing her in the face with a knife. The 24yearold victim was walking to her job in chelsea early yesterday morning near west 23rd and 7th avenue. She noticed him acting weird. She went against herbert judgment to cross the street but she kept on walking. Answer he hit me i thought this guy looks weird, i should stay behind him or cross the street. You dont think these things will happen to you. I thought i will be fine. He was probably on drugs, maybe psychotic, didnt know what he was doing or maybe he wanted to hurt somebody. I dont know. Reporter bazemore was recently arrested for attacking another woman randomly at 6th and west 12th. Walked up to a woman and punched her in the face. In that case he was charged with a misdemeanor and then released. Now he is charged with felony assault and criminal possession of a weapon for what he allegedly did yesterday. Rescue crews are on the scene trying to reach a dozen miners trapped in a salt mine in Central New York state. 17 miners are trapped in an elevator about 800 feet underground at the cargill salt mine in lansing, new york. This photo was posted on instagram showing a crane arriving to assist in the rescue. Firefighters were able to get heat packs and blankets to the miners as the rescue efforts continue. This morning he is in Police Custody at the 13th precinct. A few people recognized bazemore Walking Around midtown and they flagged down Police Officers who found bazemore and arrested him. Police have been offering a 2,500 reward to find the man featured in the Surveillance Video. The video shows the suspect, who is believed to be bazemore, walking alongside a woman then randomly and suddenly slashing her in the face with a knife or box cutter and then running away. The location is the gowanus expressway at the 7th avenue overpass in lower brooklyn. What it looks to me is that a vehicle was broken down in the by a tow truck when this truck, a container truck came along and smashed into everybody in if the left lane. You can see first of all what catches your eye is the bmw s. U. V. Completely vertical here pointed nose down to the ground wedged between the container truck and the tow truck. New this morning, a homeless man is charged with the murder of a mcdonalds manager in the bronx. Rafael gonzalez turned himself over to Police Yesterday morning. Investigators say he stabbed 2 yearold adam garcia outside early monday morning after following the employee to the parking lot. Garcia died from multiple stab wounds. Eyewitness news exclusive. Five Rikers Island correction officers are in the hospital recovering from the beating they got from teenage inmates. We obtained the exclusive photos of the guards after the mass assaults. They came from a new rikers unit for what is called uncontrollable inmates. Guards had to use chemical spray to regain control. The inmates used to be in administrative segregation. Mayor de blasio said that pole was not humane and he ordered a change. Until the mayor walks in the shoes of a new york city correction officer that has his or her eye socket busted out then he will have a difference of opinion. Looks like one or more vehicles was standing still in the left lane and got run into by a container truck. They worked for half an hour to extricate one person from the red vehicle wedged under the other accident vehicles. That person was just extradited. We dont have an update on their condition. A man is in custody for random attack that left a woman with stitches on her face. Reporter the 41yearold suspect, Kari Bazemore is here at the 13th precinct charged with felonious assault and police say bazemore is the man seen in the video slashing her in the face with the knife. The victim was walking to her job in chelsea early yesterday morning. She never saw the mans face. She felt the blade sliding across the face, a wound that required 7 stitches.
