Now this should all be cleared away by 5 00a. We have 280, route 80 east, exit 47. Route 3 east at ridge road. Some conditions out there are very dangerous. Outage that left most of the terminal in the latest on this commuter alert. Dre. Good morning. The goal is to get the power fully restored by the morning rush. The doors here at Grand Central terminal are locked while workers are making repairs. It was quite a scene here at Grand Central terminal yesterday morning at around 9 30 when the entire lower level lost power as well as other parts of the building. Trains were diverted to the upper level and more than 100 businesses and vendors also lost power. People were at a loss trying to figure out what exactly was happening. A spokesperson says a 6inch pipe burst causing 18 inches of water to flood a vault that holds Electrical Equipment for the building. I saw black dust over there i said wow. Something is not right. Yeah. Was. This happened on a holiday because we dont have a rush hour of service. Yeah, and that certainly happening yesterday. The fact it was a holiday. Meanwhile, despite the serious power outage yesterday, the mta reported no major delays to metro north trains and they are also saying this morning, though customers should expect 20 or 30 minute delays to get things up and running. They are in the process of getting those repairs and get things close to normal as possible to avoid any frustration and confusion for customers. Last nights weather made for icy conditions on the roads in harrison, a driver lost control, a pickup truck traveled up on to a wall. It happened around midnight. The driver made it out and is expected to be okay. The accident happened on grove street near the intersection of west street. While its unclear what caused the wreck, the area was very, and a large tree branch actually came down. It happened at the corner of croten lake road. The branch took a few power lines with it. Power has since been restored. This morning in Westchester County, one man described the roads as quite the obstacle. Definitely fourwheel drive conditions. Icy, slushy, slick, slide downhills. It was a slow go for rush hour drivers hitting roads in connecticut. An inch of snow, coated black ice making it difficult to stay in your lane. After rush hour, it was stop and go to bumper with tow trucks standing by just in case. And plows did their job trying to keep the streets clear, but through the ice that coated the roads. The roads flooded with a foot of water shutting off Water Service to many residents. Most of the city does have the water back on, but they may be isolated. Crews are working around the clock to repair the break. In brooklyn, a man is dead after getting into a dispute with a female restaurant worker in sunset park. Police say the woman stabbed 41 yearold john john jang several times in front of his restaurant on 8th avenue. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. 4 38. Antibeyonce protesters are gearing up for a rally today outside the nfl headquarters. The protest is inspired by the singers super bowl halftime performance. Look how heavy it is at 2 00. 3 00, right after school, 4 00, very heavy. And then gone by 7 00. Even 7 00 tonight, look at the temperatures are in the mid and upper 40s and to start the day tomorrow, were back into the upper 30s, which is above normal for this time of the year. Expected rain fall in spots will be over an inch. Bridge port, over an inch and a half. This will create flooding along the i95 corridor there from bridgeport to newark to the turnpike.
