Some of the big movie names include grounding who groundhog day, scarface. And daredevil season 2. John we had a lot of rain, hearing al talk about record rainfall. Al yesterday it was late in starting as we thought it would be, last night while a lot of you were inside watching television, 1. 86 inches of rain, good enough for a record in charlotte. Another half inch overnight. Over 2. 33 inches. A back edge to this, lets look in the queen city, there is still spotty showers and trust me, the streets are still wet after that pounding rain overnight. But again these are very spotty compared to what is happening in the mountains and foothill, the mountains will see rain all day long. The foothills you will likely get erosion deeper through the morning and afternoon. In charlotte i think a lot of this is lifting northward. Look at futurecast at 8 00, you can see the back edge of this, notice the mountains dont clear out at all until very late in the afternoon. Again, im not talking about a clear out as far as cloud cover goes, that will be with us all day long, not seeing sunshine but notice a lot more gray than green. Rain blossoms tonight. Temperatures mild in the 50s. Warm overnight, and then get this, tomorrow could be close to 70. Clover leaf Elementary School in statesville getting rain in that part of iredell county, again we have rain drops on the lens but not raining in charlotte at the moment. Visibility at the moment, fog is not much of an issue. Rain chances are highest this morning, but they pare back to 30 chance late this afternoon, high of 53. That is chilly compared where we were yesterday whether we when we were 66. The next rain maker in texas will be coming across the southeast tonight and then tomorrow it impacts our area. So with that, were looking at a big dose of rain. We have a Flash Flood Watch in effect for the entire viewing area, that is for tomorrow and tomorrow evening and how much rain are we talking about . This is on top of what has fallen, ill take us out through wednesday night, early thursday morning, one to two inches of rain likely here. That will be leading to localized flooding. Other situation is anywhere in the eastern two thirds of the viewing area potential at least a slight chance for severe storms tomorrow, i could not rule out a tornado tomorrow afternoon or evening, rain and wind is a definite, tornadoes we will be monitoring that situation. Threat of Severe Weather, just a lot of clouds damp cool weather, a little bit of rain linger, 90 chance of thunderstorms tomorrow some of which severe. Snow in the mountains thursday, rest of us will dry out, windy, 54, friday and the weekend looking good. Warm back up by sunday. That is the forecast here is chris, an unfolding situation, breaking news, first alert traffic. Chris traffic is sponsored by toyota of north charlotte. Here is the situation on i77 northbound at tyvola road. There you make out the medic bus over on the side of the roadway. The accident is behind that. But Charlotte Fire Department has two of three lanes blocked off, sort of blocking that accident scene while medic does their job, so that is forcing everybody in one lane sort of scooting around that accident scene. So again we have major backups there you have tyvola rhode androad and archdale, you could work over toward south tryon, look at backups, extending past arrowood road. Well coop an eye on this, we keep an eye on this. Two of three lanes blocked off. Most of the rain has moved out of the area, most of the major interstates still running in the green, slow downs on the expressway, though, in toward center city with an accident at hawthorne and again, our accident here on 77 north. Youre never more than seven minutes away from weather and traffic on wbtv news this morning. Hundreds of people had to get out and get out fast. There were five people injured, a firefighter also hurt. He hurt his leg, i believe, and investigation is now underway but you can see how quickly that fire spread on the top floor of that building. No word on the cause yet but as soon as we hear anything well let you know right here on wbtv. John thanks, kristen. After the break, well watch the breaking news along i77 north near tyvola road. Chance of rain pared back deeper through the day the rain is lifting northward, by late this afternoon, more overcast than anything, certainly chilly at 53 degrees but look for temperatures to improve tomorrow getting up close to 70. As we do, there is an enhanced threat for severe storms tomorrow afternoon and evening, anywhere east of about the shelby area and i40, well keep an eye on that situation tomorrow, potential for Severe Weather. Today, just rain and drizzle, but again, it will be paring back, heading toward the weekend better situation. That is the forecast, check in with chris, first alert traffic. Chris al, thank you, toyota of north charlotte. I77 northbound tyvola, snarled right now because of an injury accident. Medic and cmpd still on the scene there, we have opened one other lane so two of three lanes are now open, but that is creating major league backups. Archdale over to south boulevard up to woodlawn would probably be the best alternate, it is stop and go now all the way past 485, so a slowgo on 77 northbound. Guyses, back to you.
