You turned on them and attacked them , and then we tried to disarm him but unfortunately we couldnt get the knife away and it left us no choice. The officers and 2 emts were sent to the hospital. The commissioner says the District Attorneys Office will take over the investigation. The dead suspects name has not been released. He swung repeatedly at the officers with the knife and unfortunately, the officers had no choice, they fired, and, um, you know, they killed the individual. Again, um, you know, its tough. The officers and two emts were sent to the hospital with head and back injuries. The dead suspects name has not been released. This morning, a teenager is wounded and a woman is dead from a shooting in dorchester. We are hearing the woman was likely an innocent bystander afghanistan, we are here in dorchester. The women i know and the women i am working with, they collaborate, they think differently and they tend to focus more on issues that effect women, for example, exiti. Isnt Hillary Clinton she was notorious in the failed her ethical standards, i think its fair to say, are debatable. Doesnt she break that mold . One of the focuses of her entire career have been families. Children in particular. She has been consistent with that since he was the first lady of arkansas. No, she has been very focused and consistent on that. I just wonder if once you become part of the political process, whats the old saying, once changes you . I think you could say the same for beacon hill, to some extent. I know women in politics try to appear to be tough. I am wondering if for hillary um. Im sorry. You dont agree . Its okay. Im cure rouse curious. Im in the front lines of this. I know you are. I am talking with the leaders. I dont see them changed, i see them, you know, getting more experienced and of course you have to be tough. Its at standard. Weve got three Women Holding statewide office now, the auditor, the attorney, but we still rank only in the middle of the pack. 24th. Why is that and how is that going to change . Well, i think why that is is because there are so many male incumbents at the state, but we are right now at, women make up over massachusetts. We are at 25 elected female in the state house. The massachusetts state caucus has nominated 6 candidates and when they win, we are going to move that needle to 32 at the state house. They are small gains, but they become compounded. Our mission is to get more november will be a great step forward. Back in the early 90s, i wrote a lot about this topic for the boston phoenix and people told me the problem wasnt so much sexism in the electorate, but it was an old boy network, but for the women to organize and raise money was has that changed in the last 20 years . Well, i think from what we know, for a woman to run for office, she has to be asked about seven times. You ask a man and he is off and running. A woman is more restrained about the beginning. When you think about the context of how Hillary Clinton is being treated and the words pause. I think the climate today in which the women do run and win, i think its an out standing job and i think its our job to create a pipeline of women who want to seek office.
