Thats where the bodies of a husband and wife in their 60s were discovered and tonight nbc 10 has confirmed it was a murder suicide. Police say they were called out to a home on lempa road in the holland sext section of norriton township just after four thank afternoon. Arriving officers found two individuals deceased on the second floor of the residence. There was a handgun nearby. Tonight police are not releasing their names, but we have learned they owned a store on jewellers row in center city. The bucks county coroner will determine their official cause of death. Well be gathering new information all night long and bring you any updates on the story on nbc 10 news today starting at 4 00 a. M. A wild scene inside a West Philadelphia barbershop tonight ends with one man dead and another considered a hero. Nbc 10s Randy Gyllenhaal is live at police headquarters. Randy, you spoke to people who were inside the shop when that shooting started. Reporter yeah and denise these witnesses say this all started as an argument between a customer and one of the barbers. And they say it could have been much worse if it wasnt for another man, also carrying a gun, who fired back at the shooter. The west philly barbershop was packed full of customers getting haircut cans when witnesses say one man got angry, started a fight, and pulled a gun. He was arguing. It was taking it too far. And the barber said chill out. Reporter then suddenly bullets went flying nearly hitting customers and staff. I heard gunshots, so i ducked and i ran. Reporter 16yearold uysaf mack hit the floor, escaping with no injuries because in what appears to be a case of very good timing, police say another man with a concealed carry permit saw what was happening and fired back. Striking that shooter in the chest, killing him. He just shot him. And when he was done shooting he ran. Reporter that man is being credited with saving lives. Police are investigating this homicide as a case of selfdefense. Basically came to the rescue. He had a legal permit to carry. Reporter after the shooting the man turned himself in to police in the 16th district. Homicide detectives will determine if any charges need to be filed, but police say right now it appears he saved the lives of others, cutting a potentially deadly shooting short. It was just a legal gun permit carrier. He responded. And i guess he saved a lot of people in there. Youre thinking if it wasnt for this guy some more people could have been injured or killed . It could have been a lot worse, correct. Reporter now Philadelphia Police have not released the identity of the man who was killed, only saying he was about 40 years old. Police tell us they do have a suspect in custody tonight. Jamille carter turned himself in to authorities earlier this evening. Investigators carried evidence out of the home on janney street in Port Richmond where the shooting happened. Police say carter went into the house where his exgirlfriend live and started hitting her. When her son came down the stair, Authorities Say carter fired his gun, hitting the boy in the leg. This is a really big shock. Like its never happened here. Never. The boy is expected to be okay. Authorities say the 11yearold victim of a shooting yesterday was accidentally shot by her own brother. It happened at a home in wissinoming. According to police the 14yearold took a gun out of his fathers unlocked nightstand. The girl is in critical condition, but stable. It looks like a Philadelphia Church that dates back to the 19th century will soon have a date with a wrecking ball. The archdiocese of philadelphia announced plans to demolish the church in fishtown. Residents and former parishioners have been fighting to save the church. The archdiocese said it would cost nearly 3 funny executive million to repair and restore it. Thats compared to the 1 million price tag to demolish it. The st. Lou school will remain open. New at 11 00, a deadly fire in philadelphias germantown section. Investigators confirm that one person is dead. That fire broke out at an Apartment Building on pulaski shortly before 7 30 tonight. No word on what caused the fire or the victims identity. Dozens of people remain out of their homes tonight after fire tore through an Apartment Building at the jersey shore. That fire started around 3 00 this morning at the summers Point Village complex in atlantic county. The flames damaged at least four apartments. Two residents were hurt. Neighbors tell us one of the injured actually jumped from a second floor balcony to escape the flames. My name was yelling fire, fire, fire. The red cross is now helping more than 20 people displaced by the fire while investigators continue searching for the cause. An investigation is under way at a school in queens after a video was released of some older students dragging first graders down a hallway. The department of education released this 30second clip of the incident. It shows the eighth graders repeatedly dragging the younger students across the floor. Lawyers say the older students even coerced the first graders to fight each other. These first graders were absolutely in fear to even report to it any of the teachers afterwards because they were in fear of any repercussions from these eighth graders, who of course are much larger in size. The administrators suspended four eighth graders. The teachers who left the children unsupervised have been removed from the classroom.
