Of course, he stunned the nfl, shocked the football world with his march makeover getting rid of a lot of the eagles key players, pro bowl players, popular players. Take a look at the crowd, waiting for chip kelly this morning at the breakfast where he spoke to the media for about an hour. And he joked as he was going into this session, this is my yearly dentist appointment, i guess. Chip is in charge of all Football Operations so he really has to balance his budget. He has to consider the salary cap. Thats why he said he let receiver Jeremy Maclin go. It was too much money that Jeremy Maclin got from the chiefs. That is also why he traded lesean mccoy. Shady had a salary cap hit of about 12 million this year. And chip says and he says this for the first time, the eagles talked with his agent about lowering that hit, but they would not budge. When you look at moving forward, and that was just a really big number you know and they werent moving off the number so that was where the decision was made. I mean youre talking about the alltime leading running back for the philadelphia eagles, led the league in rushing two years ago. It was a real dig difficult decision, but it was a decision we thought we had to make. We had too much money at the running back spot. We had too much money allocated for defense as offense. We tried to balance that out. I think it showed in our play. Reporter yeah so chip was willing to overpay a little bit the free agent cornerback byron maxle on defense but not overpay his own receiver Jeremy Maclin for those reasons.
