Septa commends the Good Samaritans but the agency advises a safer route would be notifying septa or using the emergency call box to have the tracks shut off. A burned body found in car near Philadelphia International airport. The mans body was found yesterday afternoon in southwest philly. The twodoor honda accord was just a burned out shell. New information this evening about the Montgomery County bridge blocked off to 15,000 daily drivers. A sinkhole knocked the bridge out of commission and now frustrated commuters will have to wait until late summer for penndot to replace the bridge and reopen plymouth road. Now the detours have drivers leaving the blue route and heading west only on plymouth road. They cant come this way east on butler pike. You can see more sinkholes on this section of the bridge. Good news tonight, though, penndot saying theyve got a plan in place, the bridge should be open by the end of the summer. August 31st is a long time away so maybe they can accelerate that a little bit. Reporter Michelle Belle owns arugula, a restaurant at plymouth road and butler pike. There was a lot of traffic coming through before we opened but now its completely empty. We expect plymouth road will reopen by august 31st, 2015. Reporter standing on the bridge penndots acting secretary of transportation announced emergency plans to demolish the bridge and rebuild. Bids will be accepted in the next week for the work but even a fasttracked plan met with resistance. The traffic coming through here is pretty intense. Reporter those who live along plymouth road say for the first time in years its quiet here. Theyd like to see with the road closed a wider bridge built, one thats able to handle more traffic. Whenever you ask questions, you cant get answers because theres no plan for the future. Thats very frustrating. Reporter penndot says the emergency plan calls for rebuilding the bridge the same width as the old one, says thats the only way to get this road opened quickly for the 15,000 commuters who travel it daily. Also penndot saying this wont be a quick fix, rather than a total rebuild to prevent this from happening again.
