And lesean mccoy, why so much trouble running the ball . Next. This is the xfinity sportsdesk brought to you by xfinity, your home for the most live sports. Im john clark. The eeg rls not happy the nfl ruled redskins chris bakers hit on nick foles sunday was legal and wont be fined. Troy vincent tweeted out an explanation this afternoon. Here is the vicious hit. Troy says the quarterback cannot be hit in the head or neck area on a turnover. Nick was not hit in the head or neck area. The quarterback is pursuing the play, he can be hit. It says nothing about whether the quarterback is pursuing the play or not. Baker hits nick after the redskins knee is down. The ruling is a surprise to chip kelly. Thats news to me that thats a legal hit. I knew the referee threw a flag pretty quickly. And took him out of the game. Everything weve taught and we know, you cant blind side a player, no matter if its a quarterback or not. Theres also a rule that a quarterback on the change of possession is basically a defenseless player. The way things are going with the nfl, you cant be surprised with anything. It is what it is. Everyone remembers this, right, hugh douglas hitting jim miller during a playoff game with the bears. It was after an interception. Hugh was fined 35 grand by the league for the hit. If teams want to try to stop the run, get 34 points scored on them, nick is playing at a high level and were making plays, thats how you all lose. Linebacker Mychal Kendricks did not practice today. He probably wont play again sunday. And could this be derek jeters final atbat at Yankee Stadium today .
