This morning, police are looking for at least one suspect in connection with a triple shooting at Delaware State University. Nbc 10s jesse gary is live in dover this morning. Jesse, what can you tell us . Reporter ted weve moved to the main gate of Delaware State University. Weve been calling to find out if theyre still ordering students to stay in their dorms. We have not heard back. You can see that they have a stop sign and a gate thats partially closed or both gates are actually closed. So theyve closed the campus to visitors so we cant go on campus, but we have not heard back from police. The last we heard was that students were being encouraged to stay in their dorms. We have some video that we shot just a little while ago. This is talk over the problems that were here last night starting around 8 00. This is all part of what was called the annual field day cookout here on campus. Its a greet event, sanctioned by the university. Around 8 00 shots rang out. Three people were hit and taken over to kent General Hospital in stable condition with nonlifethreatening wounds. Its unclear if the three that were hit are students. Everyone on campus who is a student was told to stay in their dorms. All nonstudents were asked to leave the campus. Then around 1 30 this morning, more shots fired, this time at an offcampus housing project. No injuries reported there. Police have put out a description of the shooter, a short man with dreadlocks 59 to 511, wearing blue long leave tshirt. He may be driving a darkcolored fourdoor vehicle. The University President put out a Statement Last night saying is the safety of our students continues to be paramount and our police will aggressively continue their investigation until an arrest or arrests are made in this shooting incident. Again right now, they are still looking for the shooter from two incidents, one back here on campus and one at a housing complex run by the University Just southsouthwest of the campus, just by a skosh, in that direction. New from overnight in burlington county, crews are looking for a house fire in mt. Holly. You can see the smokey scene there. Flames hit the home along Church Street just before midnight. Firefighters got the blaze under control a few hours later. They called for a demolition crew to board up the opal, because of safety concerns. No reports of any injuries there. Officials in Lehigh County have issued a voluntary evacuation due to a forest fire on blue mountain. According to the allentown morning call the fire has already burned more than 100 acres. It started yesterday afternoon in east penn township Carbon County and then spread towards Lehigh County. The red cross set up a Reception Center in Washington Township in case people need a place to go. No injuries reported there either. New information on that one, a brush fire in bucks county. According to the bucks county kourcourier times, officials believe someone intentionally set the flames in bensalem. The fires crept up to the pennsylvania turnpike before crews were able to get it under control. Animal control officers will now decide the fate of a family dog after it attacked a 3yearold girl. Those officers removed the dog from a home on washington avenue in philadelphias cobbs creek section last night. Police say the little girl was being held by her grandmother when the dog apparently got jealous. It mauled the childs head. Police say officers called to the scene acted quickly. Two responding officers did not wait for fire rescue or rescue squad to show up. They took the baby immediately to the hospital and theres no doubt in my mind that their actions saved that childs life. The child underwent surgery and is in critical but stable condition this morning. The grandmother tried to protect the little girl end anded up with bites on her hands. This morning, authorities are right to figure out what caused a local High School Football player to die after collapsing during a workout. Ryan gillyard was a freshman on the st. Josephs prep football team. The 15yearold from upper darby you would collapsed yesterday morning, during spring workout. He died a short time later at a hospital. Right now, it is just unclear what caused him to collapse. Administrators at st. Joes prep say Grief Counseling Services are being provided for students throughout the weekend and into monday. They released a statement saying ryan was a great person someone we were proud to have as part of our community. We will do whatever we can to support his family and friends, especially the members of the freshman class and the football team. Philadelphia police tell us that a woman will face charges in what they are calling an intentional hitandrun. According to authority, the woman turned herself in late yesterday morning. That was a few hours after the white suv allegedly used to hit beet tryst spence was found in fern rock. Police believe the suspect was spences romantic rival. They say she ran over spence in the citys nice town section friday afternoon. One of expenses legs was severed and she remains in the hospital. Developing this morning overseas crews are conducting a major search and rescue operation, after a shift carrying hundreds of migrants capsized in the mediterranean sea. It happened near the italian island of lampedusa south of sicily. 24 people are confirmed dead and officials expect the death toll to rise into the hundreds. Officials believe the ship held about 700 people. Crews have rescued only a few dozen people so far. A brush fire is threatening 200 homes in california and officials have ordered a mandatory evacuation. The fire has burned about 175 acres of land in the area of chino hills since it started yesterday evening. Hundreds of firefighters have trying to contain the flames. So far there have been no reports of any injuries. Take a look at this fire on a bus that was carrying students from the university of kentucky. This is one of four chartered buses taking the students to a harbor cruise in boston yesterday. Police say the driver noticed thick smoke coming from the engine and pulled over in stir bridge massachusetts. The students evacuated the bus, which was reduced to a charred husk. Luckily, no one was hurt. In just a few hours, former president bill clinton will participate in a ceremony to mark 20 years since the Oklahoma City bombing. It was two decades ago today that Timothy Mcveigh drove a truck bomb into the alfred p. Murrah federal building. He and his coconspirator terry nichols, were convicted of killing 168 people and injuring hundreds more. Mcveigh was executed in 2001. Nichols is still in prison. It was the worst terrorist attack on u. S. Soil prior to 9 11. This date also marks the 22nd anniversary of the end of the siege at the Branch Davidian compound in waco texas. In february of 1993 Law Enforcement officers raided the ranch of david koresh and his followers. That started a 51day standoff. It ended on april 19th when federal agents fired tear gas into the compound. A fire erupted and 76 people died. Tomorrow, 30,000 runners will compete in the Boston Marathon which will be under tight security following that deadly bombing two years ago. Police say they have been preparing for the event for an entire year. State troopers and officers from surrounding towns will be patrolling the course some on bicycles. Also there are more miles of fencing between the runners and the fans and security crews will screen spectators before entering the finish line bleachers. Three people died and 260 others were hurt when two bombs went off at the 2013 Boston Marathon. Dzhokar tsarnaev was convicted of all charges against him. A new rooter says that fbi examiners gave flawed forensic testimony against criminal defendants for decades. The Washington Post reports both the fbi and the Justice Department acknowledged errors by the bureaus microscopic hair comparison unit. They overstated forensic matches that favored prosecutors in most of the trials reviewed so far. The fbi says it is committing to notifying defendants of the errors. An editing request from oscar winner ben affleck is included in one of the emails hacked from Sony Pictures and published by wikileaks. In the email affleck asks a pbs show not to reveal that one of his ancestors was a slave owner. Pbs says they did not censor that information, but skipped it in favor of more interesting affleck ancestors. From our Jersey Shore Bureau, wells fargo is offering 300,000 to get the electricity turned back on for two weeks at the former Revel Casino Hotel in Atlantic City. The company made the officer to alleviate dangers from the stalemate between a Power Company and the buildings new owner. The Fire Department says battling a blaze in that building without electricity would be nearly impossible. Florida developer glenn straub bought the defunct resort on april 7th and the power was cut two days later. Atlantic city is fining straub 5,000 for each day its off, for fire code violations.
