Reporter we just exited off the westbound side of the expressway. Lets look at the sky force 10 video. You can see there were hundreds of people with us. We exited, coming westbound, we were in the traffic bumper to bumper for about an hour and a half. Take a look at the ground scene. This is what we saw at mile post 22. 7, a crumpled white ford pickup truck. The investigation is ongoing, but a state trooper on the scene told us six people, at least two children were in the truck when the driver lost control. She also said at least one person has died. It appears no one was secured or wearing seat belts. According to a new Jersey State Police spokesperson at the barracks, the accident happened around 7 10 this morning. Right now the driver and another person are at Cooper Trauma Center in Critical Condition according to sources. We also are learning that three people were taken to atlantic care Regional Medical center. Well continue to monitor this investigation. Jillian mele is in the studio now watching the traffic. When we came through out of the mraz three lanes of traffic were reduced to one lane. What are you seeing that the point . Monique, that has been the case for a while now and this has been a serious accident and its been out there for a while and you can see the debris scattered all over the highway. Let me step out of the way so you can get a good look at this if you are just joining us. It is still closed approaching route 54 hamilton. Monique was talking about the one lane of traffic. Thats the traffic that has been stuck for hours and for miles approaching that scene. A lot of the traffic heading westbound on to the Atlantic City expressway has been detoured off of the highway near exit 17. So crews have been trying to get people off of the highway. A lot of traffic has been turned around at the farm willy Service Plaza that monique mentioned and it is definitely an ongoing situation still causing a headache for drivers on the highway to get around it and to avoid this you have two options and take the black horse pike route 22 and weve been monitoring the video at sky force 10 and this is a photo that monique tweeted just a short time ago from the scene as she was gathering that video out there as they established to get the live shot together for this report. About an hour after that authorities were called to this in Cumberland County and near waymus road. You can see the truck flipped on to its side. The driver, though, is okay. An elderly man is recovering from minor injuries after he was hit a by a car. Police tell us a driver ran a red light and struck the man this morning. The man had the right of way. Crews are working to fix a broken water main that flooded a street in south philadelphia. This is what it looked like on third street between oregon and chunk. The workers shut off the water at 7 00 a. M. , a 12inch main broke sending water into the street. No home his to be evacuated and no word yet on when crews expect to have that water main repaired. Investigators are trying to figure out what caused a business in camden to go up in flames this morning. Fire officials tell nbc 10 workers at plastic consulting and manufacturing on ferry avenue noticed high temperatures in an oven. When they opened the door they saw fire. Renee . Now an nbc 10 exclusive. Two men are in custody after a shooting and chase through two new jersey counties. Sky 10 was there as the suspects surrendered last night. It started in Gloucester County where theyre accused of shooting a man in the stomach and that led to a police pursuit. Officers from at least three different aejs are interviewing the suspects. Kathleen cane plans to release a new report on the investigation of jerry sandusky. Cane is holding a News Conference in harrisburg on monday to give details on the report. Sandusky was accused on 45 counts. Hes serving a 30 to 60year state prison sentence. During canes campaign to become attorney general she questioned why it took nearly three years for charges to be filed against him. Happening now, the central pennsylvania minister who was defrocked after officiating his sons samesex marriage is appealing that decision. Frank schaefer is arguing that in ballot her. A jury of pastors suspended the minister from lebanon last year. His minister credentials were later stripped when he refused to promise never to officiate another samesex wedding. On the School Budget crisis now. The School District of philadelphia will now turn to its labor unions and the state for emergency funding. The city wants a total of 96 million by the end of the month. Philadelphia city pools opened today, but theyre prepared with the hot days to come with a lot of people lining up to swim. We have kids line up. There are five lifeguards on duty. We let 150 in. We let them in for a half hour and then pull them out and then let the next 150 in and they just go back in line and wait in the end and come back in a half hour later. To help keep everyone safe, the pools maintain a ratio of one lifeguard with 30 kids in the water with at least two on duty. They offer free swim lessons. Control launching an internal investigation after dozens of workers may have been exposed to live anthrax bacteria. The agency says about 75 workers at the atlanta facility are being monitored or given antibiotics just as a precaution. New york city may be known as the big apple, but this summer the apple is taking over philly. The Barnes Foundation is unveiling a brand new exhibition called the world is an apple, the still life of paul cezanne. Its an exciting event and here to talk about it is judith burkhardt. Youre the curator, tell us about this exhibit and why it is such a big deal. This is a wonderful exhibition and a real insight into the way paul cezanne created his wonderful still life. He painted still lives from the very beginning of his career until the end so we got to see how his painting technique transitioned over the course of his life. There are 69 cezannes at the Barnes Foundation. You now have 21 additional ones with this exhibition, so thats quite a huge number to have under one roof and we think that this exhibition will allow us to look at the collection through another lens. The Philadelphia Museum of art had cezanne and beyond, and i would imagine if people like that theyll love the world is an apple. I think so. I think it is a wonderful insight to a very specific part of his work. Cezanne seeing his early work in xib sxigsz his late work, finished, unfinished and this is a part of his work that has never been examined before in his exhibition and this is a challenge to engage by wonderful paintings that come from all over the world and are rarely seen.
