Theres no rain and no snow, not today and not for the weekend either. Stronger wind north and east of philadelphia. We are all seeing the northwesterly winds. It will hold the temperatures back during the day. Here is the break of the clouds in portions of south jersey, pennsylvania, Central New Jersey seeing more sunshine break through. But this is the remnants of the noreaster that we started with earlier in the week, rain and wind and snow. Today, it is a breeze and the clouds that are blowing through the last little bit of that noreaster as it pulls away to the north. We will see less and less cloud cover today. This morning, police are looking for the person who shot and killed a man in a philadelphia neighborhood. This happened in the logan section of the city last night. Investigators tell us the 26yearold victim was on 11th street when someone shot him in the head and chest. Right now police dont know why the man was shot. In atlantic county, police are looking for a shooter. This happened at the sea grass cove apartment complex. Someone shot and killed a man there last night. Theres no word on what led to the violence. One person is dead after he crashed into a wall in southwest philadelphia. This happened around 12 30 this morning on lindbergh boulevard. The drivers car flipped over. Police say he had problems with the turn. Tonight, freiends, family ad firefighters will say goodbye to joyce craig, the first firefighter who is female to die in the line of fire. Matt, they are expecting a large crowd there. Reporter we are here along north broad street outside the bachelor brothers funeral home. Thats where the viewings and Funeral Service will be held. Joyce craig was an 11year veteran of the department with two children and a passion for her job, according to colleagues. On tuesday morning, she was battling a house fire. She had been fighting that fire in the basement. When her crew was pulled out, she became trapped, according to investigators, and was found with no vital signs. The cause of the fire and the circumstances of joyce craigs death are still under investigation. For now at least, her loved ones and coworkers are set to honor her this evening at 6 00, the first viewing here. Another viewing is scheduled for tomorrow morning at 8 00 followed by a Funeral Service here at 10 00. Philadelphia police tell us they are anticipating a lot of people. Because of that, there are some road closures to tell you about. Look here. This is north broad. This is one of the areas to avoid if you are not going to be a part of the service and you are not going to attend tomorrow. Broad street will be closed to everyone except residential traffic, between 8 00 a. M. And noon. At 11 00 a. M. , the motorcade will proceed to the cemetery. One other note, in the past couple of hours i have seen street cleaners getting all of the leaves up and getting the area ready as firefighters now ready themselves to say goodbye to one of their own. They believe he is responsible for a spree of sexrelated attacks on college students. They tell us officers were patrolling University City when they spotted James Barrett attacking a 38yearold grad student near 41st and pine. Police say there were five different assaults of women who were walking alone on or near the campuses of penn and drexel. They believe he is behind at least three of those. We think he was trolling out here for females walking alone. And then trying to rob them. Investigators are trying to determine if barrett assaulted two drexel students yesterday. Police have not linked those assaults to the Home Invasion and rape of a drexel student on wednesday. A man broke into the students apartment in spring garden, threatened the woman with a meat cleaver, demanded money and her cell phone and sexually assaulted her. No suspects at this time. A chase started in new jersey and ended in maryland. Police arrested the carjacking suspect last night just before he drove into the fort mchenry tunnel. Thats in baltimore. The chase started just before 3 00 yesterday in west hampton, burlington county. He carjacked a woman. Officers took out his tires using stop sticks in baltimore. Investigators identify the suspect as 29yearold trent tally. Chaka fattah, junior is in federal court arguing he doesnt need a lawyer to fight tax evasion and fraud charges. He wants to represent himself because he is most familiar with the allegations against him. Fattah juniors trial is set for march 9. His father is a congressman who is married to our news afrpger. In ocean county a fundraiser will be held for the family of a woman killed when a jet crashed into her home in maryland. She grew up in brick township. She and her two young sons died in the crash. All three people on the plane were killed that day. The husband and 5yearold daughter were not home at the time of the crash. The fundraiser is tonight at 8 00 at the river rock restaurant and marina bar in brick township. In the Atlantic City casino crisis where he more than three days away from the deadline to save the trump taj mahal. The new deadline is monday. The owners say the Workers Union backed out of a deal to keep the casino open and save the 3,000 jobs. The ceo says the union has until 5 00 p. M.
