A delaware conte man is recovering after he may have been hit by lightning. Neighbors tell us the father of three was walking his dog at the end of his driveway when lightning struck. They saw the man fall to the ground. Nbc10 Technology Show severe lightning strikes over that area at that time. We talked to neighbors what the storm was like. It was so not like anything ive ever heard. Terrifying. It was scary. We were outside just moments before that. They say they saw the man fall to the ground when the lightning hit but police tell us they dont believe he was directly hit by lightning. They believe he may in fact have suffered a medical condition when the lightning struck. Witnesses say he was complaining of tingling in his legs but he was able to walk. He was taken to a hospital to be checked out. We did see heavy downpours at times during the thunderstorms but the rain wasnt enough to help farmers in the area. Now, in addition to the problems that theyre dealing with with the lack of rain, when we were on the farm visiting her water pump had broken because theres been so much strain on the system because theyre having to water up to 18 hours a day. During Opening Statements prosecutors describe how johnson found her, her daughter and unborn child and set her apartment on fire to hide the evidence. The defense told the jury someones else dna was found on her body. The trial continues for the son of a police chief in lehigh valley. The 23yearold is accused of pointing a gun at Lehigh County debts last august. His father is the police chief. Christopher aimed the gun at two undercover detectives following an alleged road rage incident. Happening today, will state lawmakers overturn philadelphias paid sick leave law . Thats the subject of a big hearing at todays city hall. Right now, employers in philadelphia have to provide an hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked but last month, the state voted to overturn that law saying that the state needs uniform laws across the state. Senator larry turnaci and senator antonucci will chair the hearing. Yesterday, voters said no to a proposed property tax hike. They shot down a similar measure in february when the district tried again asking for a smaller increase. Voters said no again. Previous officials said a no vote would force it to cut jobs and afterschool programs and increase class sizes. Teachers in the archdiocese of philadelphia said no last night. They said it would not even cover the rise in medical insurance premiums. Both sides have been trying to reach an early bird settlement before the existing deal expired august 31st.
