Reporter when we arrived shortly after 4 00, we found an ambulance driving toward us basically rushing from this scene. Heres what we found when we arrived here on the banks. Dozens of Police Officers many with flashlights in hand looking into the river. The chief inspector scott small has just arrived on the scene. You see him walking up to get an assessment of the situation. We can tell you that according to police radio they got a call about 4 00 that three men had been robbed and abducted and thrown into the river here. We hear one person passed away. Another person in that ambulance leaving the scene as we arrived and the search continues for the third person. No word on the suspects responsible for this crime. We can tell you the search continues here. Well continue to monitor the situation. You see several police brass are sergeants and the chief inspector. Is this business normally operating during these Early Morning hours . Reporter as a matter of fact, i spoke to one Police Sergeant who says hes been working in the 26th district for many years and didnt even know that anyone was inside Food Distribution during the overnight and Early Morning hours but somebody did. The criminals knew. They were posing as police. Lets look at our video. They broke in around 2 15 this morning. Come impersonators that are really criminals hurts law enforcement. We have a difficult time these days trying to maintain a good reputation when someone poses as a Police Officer committing a robbery where they steal 100,000 in cash, that has a negative affect on police. However, we can assure you they were not Police Officers and just posing as Police Officers. Reporter one wearing all black. The second wearing white tshirt and dark pants. They had hats that said Police Across the top and the man in a white shirt had a badge around his neck. Investigators believe Surveillance Video taken both inside and outside the business will help them make a quick capture. We hope to have that video for you before the end of the broadcast this morning. Also new from overnight, investigators are looking into the cause of a house fire in north philadelphia. Heres what we know. Fire started around 11 00 last night. Heavy smoke coming from the home. Everyone was able to get out. One person did suffer minor injuries. Happening today a 7yearold philadelphia girl is expected to testify against the woman who is accused of abducting her from her Kindergarten School and subjecting her to horrific sexual abuse. The courtroom was cleared yesterday as jurors were shown graphic pictures of the girls injuries. A doctor testified that she has rarely seen abuse that severe. Jurors were visibly shaken but the defendant Christina Regusters did not seem to react in court. Regulsters insists shes not th person responsible. Its 5 04. New information this morning about a shooting at a crowded Basketball Court in north philadelphia that left a teenager dead. The victim is 17yearold robert reid. He played in the summer league. There wasnt a game last night but he and others were playing on the Basketball Court on cumb cumberland street and at 8 30 someone fired ten shots mostly at close range. Reid died at the scene. Witnesses describe what happened when they heard the gun shots. Everybody ran. Nobody knew where shots were coming from. Everybody just ran in the same direction. Witnesses say they did see another 17 year old running from the scene. Police believe he was the shooter and reid was the intended target. Police are reviewing surveillance cameras in the area to i. D. The suspect. People in a Bucks County Community will get information about Water Testing and whether their water may be contaminated. The epa is Testing Private and public wells near the former naval center. High levels of a compound used at that base may be in the well water. The u. S. Today a new salon will celebrate the grand open. Its one of several new businesses set to open in woodbury in the next month. The resurgence began with the Patient First facility in new jersey. Israeli Police Continue to look for a student from ocean county who disappeared in israel last week. 23yearold aaron sofer of lakewood went missing on friday while hiking in the jerusalem forest. A massive search is now under way in israel. Investigators are following up on all possibilities including the chance that sofer may have fallen victim to palestinian militants. Yesterday in lakewood, sofers brother made a plea for his safe return. I just have one message. Please bring back my brother. Aaron sofer was studying at a Religious School at the time he disappeared. The disappearance comes two months after the death of a 16 year old. His family from lakewood who was kidnapped and killed with two other israeli teenagers in the west bank. Their murders helped spark tensions. Hamas is declaring victory after reaching an agreement with israel for a longterm truce. Palestinians took to the streets of gaza city to celebrate that truce. Under the deal brokered by egypt, israel is supposed to ease imports into gaza including aid and material for reconstruction. Then in a month talks are supposed to begin in cairo on more complex issues including israels demand that hamas disarm. A 13yearold boy seriously injured in that earthquake in california says hes just lucky to be alive. Nicholas dillon suffered a factured pelvis. He says he thinks he escaped greater injury or death because he scooted toward the door during the quake. I do feel lucky. I believe that if i wouldnt have moved, i could have died. That day i could have died. I know i should have died. That area of napa valley was rattled by several aftershocks yesterday. Mostly 2. 0 in magnitude range but there was one 3. 9 tremor. Police in one Bucks County Community need your help finding the vandals who appear to be targeting the graves of military veterans. Investigators say there have been three separate incidents at ro Rosedale Memorial Park and rooseve rooseve roosevelt cemetery. They put the decorations into piles and set them on fire. I dont know why someone would want to do that and to happen at two cemeteries a mile or two apart clearly it seems like the same person doing this and theyre upset over something. Police are stepping up patrols at local cemeteries. A woman who served jail time for trying to sneak on flights was arrested again. Marilyn hartman was given a warning at that same airport about two weeks ago after she tried to get through security there without a ticket. Now this happened right after she was let out of jail for the same offense. Hartman has made a number of attempts to board planes without a ticket. A subway operator and conductor have been taken off duty while officials investigate how a train ended up going the wrong way. The train pulled on the tracks on august 11th despite a warning from the dispatcher. The operator stopped the train after seeing the headlights of a halted oncoming train. No one was hurt. 5 17. This from our delaware bureau, Frontier Airlines is scaling back on the number of flights out of new castle airport. The airline announced service to chicago, atlanta, ft. Myers will be suspended for the winter starting october 25th when its not winter yet. The airline originally planned to stop those runs on december 12th. Flights to tampa will be suspended from late october to mid december and frontier will offer those flights twice a week through the rest of winter.
