Last half hour when i last saw you. A tow truck is on scone getting ready. At least putting the things in place it needs to to upright this overturned trash truck. Around 3 30 this morning. This trash truck was traveling southbound on 95 right before the exit for Bridge Street. It apparently, the driver lost control. State police say he may have fallen asleep at the wheel and he may have had a medical emergency and either way he lost control and the tractor trailer overturned on the median and is taking out several lanes in both directions. Northbound traffic has been grossly affected for the last hour and a half. Ee only one lane in either direction is getting by. Workers tell me the best Case Scenario they expect the tractor trailer to be uprighted and towed by 6 30. They are hoping penndot can come in with front end loader and remove all the trash that is strewn about the northbound lanes. That is best Case Scenario. We know this is typically a problem spot for volume that builds very quickly in this 6 00 hour. Really into 7 30, 8 00. All this traffic commuters are heading 95 southbound. In terms of injuries, the tractor trailer driver is at Hahnemann Hospital and troopers are still trying to ascertain what exactly happened that made him lose control. You know as well as i know that 95 southbound gets busy in this area, just around 6 00. We approach 6 00 and we are expecting those delays to get significantly worse. This is the big delay were seeing in this area on 95 southbound right at Bridge Street, as you can see right now. So, big delay out there. One lane of traffic is getting by in both directions. Sky force 10 just got to the scene right now and this is that overturned tractor trailer. You can see it right there. You can see the tow truck out there at the scene and you can clearly see traffic is moving in both directions. But, unfortunately, we get so much volume on 9 a southbound that thats why were seeing that significant backup continuing to build out there and as sky force zooms out a little bit ill step out of the way. All the activity out there trying to get this accident cleared. All three lanes having to merge into one right now and that delay will continue to build. If you need to get around this, you can take the onramp to get on to 95 southbound and the boulevard, if you need to. The boulevard is okay right now. That gets busy later in the morning, too. This is something well keep you updated on because this is definitely, severely impacting the morning commute for a lot of drivers out there and will continue to do so. The other big problem were following is another overturned truck on the northeast extension. The southbound side just past quakertown and right lane is blocked there and the shoulder is blocked and only one lane of traffic is squeezing by that scene. This morning, two state lawmakers representing philadelphia will talk about legislation that will expand pennsylvanias hate crime law. Representative Brendan Boyle have both sponsored bills that will help protect members of the Lgbt Community and the mentally challenged from prejudice crime. Most of the rest of the area is running a good deal but sunshine will change that during the day today. High temperatures in the upper 60s and low 70s. Less wind today. Eight miles an hour. Come tomorrow, wont be as cold in the morning, 55 degrees to start with and 75 in the afternoon. Clouds building on wednesday and could very well lead to showers on thursday. Keep us cooler with chance of rain, 68 degrees and the clouds clear for friday and the weekend, too. 78 degrees on friday and look at the warmer weather ahead for saturday, sunday and monday. That is the southbound side. And you can see this huge backup drivers try to merge from three lanes into one to get by the accident scene. Volume on 95 northbound but always see more congestion on 95 southbound. As you can see, this delay just seems to go on for miles out there. It is a mess. You definitely want to avoid 95. Heres how you can do it, especially if you would be traveling 95 southbound into center city philadelphia. Stick to the aramingo avenue on ramp. That will help you bypass that accident and that big delay that is out there or you can even take the boulevard. That is going to be a good option, as well. As you saw from that view from sky force 10, miles of delays out there on 95 southbound and avoid it if you can because it will be out there and a messy scone for quite some time. The other problem that were following this morning is this overturned tractor trailer on the southbound side of the northeast extension just past the exit for quakertown and the right lane and the shoeld shoulder are blocked in that area and leaves the left lane getting by and a delay of two miles in that area and also going to continue to build.
