The School Year Begins a few day for Public School students in philadelphia but the budget crisis is causing all kinds of concerns for teachers getting ready. It was a concern when there are fewer adults in the school buildings, but this year, there are fewer police officer. We were really lucky last year that we didnt have any severe injuries. No, this years quite less. Reporter fewer aides fewer security guards and fewer supplies just some of the problems that the new year presents for teachers. I think its stressful for all teachers. I think over the summer everybody is thinking about how are we going to do. Reporter this is the second year weve talked to this teacher about the growing number of problems for teachers. Philadelphia is starting off in the red. An 81 million deficit and Vacant Police officer positions wont be filled among other things. Im apprehensive about not having as many adult bodies in the building. Reporter they both teach at Magnet School in kensington, with fewer aides and Police Officers, teachers are planning to walk the kids to and from the building one of several new roles theyll take off. Reporter and the district has also made cuts to the Sanitation Services so some teachers are asking their students to bring in cleaning supplies the first day of school. A report obtained by the Associated Press said Police Officers assigned to the bridge said they told officers about the traffic problem on the bridge and said they were told not to talk about it on the radios. Aislings funeral will be held monday. A mother was held on charges after prosecutors say she drove a minivan into a river with her three children inside.
