Reporter a Group Representing some of these taxi and limo drivers say theyre tired of getting the runaround and hoping Democratic Leaders take notice when they refuse to open drivers in the three days of the convention or longer if necessary. Limo drivers play cricket to pass the time. The cars are idle near the airport with nowhere to go. Drivers are not making money. Im working about 90 to 100 hours a week. Reporter they say its because of thousands of thousdr that operate in the city but its technically illegal. Thats why the drivers previously protested snarling traffic for hours around city hall. The philadelphia limousine, cab and taxi associations plan to do it again boycotting in the National Convention in july. There needs to be an equal Playing Field all across the board. Reporter they want uber and lyft drivers regulated as cabs and limos requiring commercial licenses and insurance. I cannot wave a mayoral wand and fix a problem that the Park Authority and others have responsible for. Reporter the mayor says hell continue to work with all sides to find a solution in time for the convention. A big event with people in the city and i dont think theyre walking away from the opportunity to take advantage of those economics. Watch at this man fires a rifle hitting the victim four times before walking to a car and speeding off. Hes facing charges he operated an aircraft while under the influence. Nbc 10s Denise Nakano spoke with an aviation expert saying these incidents are few and far between. The 50yearold is the man Authorities Say was about to copilot an American Airlines flight to philadelphia while allegedly drunk saturday morning. Maguires arrest forced the philadelphiabound flight from detroit canceled. Expert jim brangle says cases like this are rare. New tonight, we are learning this the Allentown School district begun their own testing for lead at two schools coming after a report surfaced of a professor about unsafe levels.
