Dozens of students start fighting in the middle of the street and take Police Officers down with them. Witnesses captured this chaos outside a septa station this afternoon. Now we learned the students planned all this on social media. Nbc 10s Denise Nakano joining us live with the new details outside of the police department. Reporter witnesses tell me tonight they saw an officer being knocked to the ground. He was one of several officers who was hurt trying to break up a fight involving dozens of teens. The cops were definitely outnumbered. Reporter after School Mayhem injuring several philadelphia Police Officers and two students. Officers arrived to a large group of students from several schools who got to the message to gather through social media. An area over here. To over here. Reporter the fight continued to erie and o streets. You can see one of the officers getting knocked to the ground. Two more officers and two students were hurt in the melee. Its a shame because its a lot going on in the city right now. Reporter investigators are look into whether a fight involving students at the same time on friday is connected. There were no reported injuries in that scuffle but Business Owners like this woman say the fights are getting bigger and worse. Last week already happened and this week it happened again. I dont want anyone to get hurt. Reporter a 16yearold was arrested on assault on a police officer. A 19yearold was arrested on charges he tried to take a baton away from another officer. Witnesses saw someone being beaten and thrown into a minivan. Those kidnaps are on the loose right now. Reporter police are looking at two surveillance cameras at the warehouses down the street. Thats where the victim was attacked and carjacked. The victim was tossed in a brown minivan and the suspects drove west down roberts avenue. Nbc 10 was there moments after the Police Arrived at roberts avenue and fox street for a reported assault and carjacking. The man was sitting there kicking and punching on the car. Reporter this woman told us she drove by as the victim was getting beat up. She didnt realize what was happening. That is like something that happens in a movie. Its dangerous out here. It is the result of an accident that turned into a road rage incident. Were not sure at this time. Reporter it all started after 7 00 p. M. A man stepped out of a brown minivan and beat up the driver of another car then the door slid open. The person winning the fight forced the victim into the minivan and laid him down in the back and continued to assault him. Reporter investigators told nbc 10 one of the suspects took off in the victims car and drove away as two others in the minivan followed with the victim inside. Philadelphia police have not issued a missing persons report yet. The suspect description is a man 64 in his 20s, husky build, last seen in that brown minivan going on roberts avenue. The pennsylvania Innocence Project announced that john thomas will have a hearing tomorrow. He was convicted in 1994 of the murder of domingo martinez. An off duty delaware state trooper is recovering after a domestic incident that left her boyfriend dead. During an argument the suspect severely beat his girlfriend in her home in pike creek. Reporter without an active firewall and unified Threat Management system, the laptops in about 650 emergency vehicles were open to hacking. The vehicles range from Chester County fire engines and ambulances to patrol cars for local police departments. He insists the cybersecurity gaps violated federal rules but he also says they potentially endangered the personal information of anyone who interacted with a first responder. They may have even endangered police themselves as their location could be tracked by hackers. Its not a matter of if. Its a matter of when you are going to be hacked. Reporter youre that confident . The people looking for ways to break in are always looking for ways to break in. Reporter he says if the allegations are accurate they potentially open up First Responders to hackers who might jump in the middle of their communication. The Information Systems are all linked. This is a county system tied to a state system tied to a federal system. Reporter he says that none of the First Responders from Police Chiefs on down knew of the security holes. Chester county has declined comment on the allegations as now they are part of an active lawsuit but the county did tell us, to our knowledge at no point has criminal justice, Law Enforcement sensitive or personnel information been compromised.
