Heres a sight you dont usually see in early december, playing at Washington Lake park in Gloucester County without heavy coats and winter gear. Live look outside in philadelphia, little overcast, but pretty good day for a walk or bike ride around the schuylkill. Nice out there. Really nice. We have nbc 10 Live Team Coverage of this unseasonably warm weather. Nbc 10s chief meteorologist glenn hurricane schwartz has been tracking the temperature. Lets begin with Brittney Shipp live outside in rittenhouse and enjoying this night weather. Brittney . Reporter absolutely. In the last probably five minutes ive counted at least five people in shorts and tshirts, so this is the place to be. Take a look behind me here, you can see some of the outdoor performers having a good time and everyone is kind of lingering around, not doing that quick winter walk where they walk quickly through the park. Everyones taking their time, maybe eating outside, if you wanted to grab a bite at the park, dine outside if you wanted to, and Rittenhouse Park is full once again with al fresco diners, dog walkers, even an inspiration for local dancers and artists. Well, you got to enjoy it. 60 degrees, december, what, 11th . I can sit outside versus cooped up in the house, i can come out to the park, enjoy company. I love hot and humid are my friends. I love philadelphia in august. Reporter do you feel like it dampers the holiday spirit . No, doesnt damper my spirit. I love it. Reporter she was a delight to talk to. And thats really been the feeling here, there are no complaints with this weather. I did talk to one couple, they are from arizona, and they are students at drexel and never been able to experience a true philadelphia winter. So yesterday we got to 62. So far today 60, temperature held down by some of the clouds we were talking about, but over the weekend its going back up. 68 degrees on saturday, near 70 on sunday. The average is 46. And both of those days could see records across many parts of the area. 59 degrees in philadelphia right now, but it is 60 in mount holly, millville, dover is 62, wildwood 63. Thats the warm spot, and the cool spot, 54 in mount pocono. That is outrageous for this time of the year, even too warm at night for them to be making snow. You see those clouds coming across right now, but theres nothing on the radar close by. The clouds will also help keep the temperature up during the night tonight, so its not going to be a cold night at all. Take a look at this, by 8 00, about 58 degrees. And then were still in the 50s by 11 00. Cloudy skies, no rain, and then 7 00 a. M. 51 with patchy fog. Thats above the average High Temperature for this time of year. Reporter the deputy mayor told the group the mayor has not changed any policy, the mayor is reviewing it now. He says in 2014 the mayor pledged to not allow i. C. E. Without a several court order. Now he says i. C. E. Agreed to the change but wants to be notified before violent offenders are released from jail. They are already fearful. I think what we have to do is we have to educate whatever we do, provide the education. Reporter but after the meeting, protesters demanded their wishes be met and blocked the door to city hall. Very important for the community to really be sure, you know, and be safe and make sure the police are not there to intimidate, but to be part of the community. Weve got record warmth coming this weekend. We also have some fog. This is going to be affecting part of the area late tonight and early tomorrow morning, and then some rain coming in on monday. Weve had a fair amount of cloudiness thats kept the temperature down a little bit from where it would have been, of course, with the sunshine. 59 degrees, winds southwest at 6, same temperature at this time yesterday, and we are 60 in bensalem and mount holly, but 55 in lancaster and mount pocono there, 54 degrees. That is way too warm for making snow in one spot. 62 degrees in dover on this particular map. These temperatures, of course, are way above average, the average is 46 degrees. And today is going to be the coolest day of the next several. 68 saturday and near 70 sunday and monday. Best chance of breaking the record is on sunday. That record set in 1923. And heres why, because as warm as it is here, its even warmer in cincinnati, 70s in nashville, 76 in little rock, arkansas, and in dallas. Even 66 in wichita, kansas.
