This as Police Continue to search for a car that was involved in a deadly hit and run that killed an 8yearold girl. Monique, whats happening where you are right now . Reporter when we arrived about 15 minutes ago, this is what we saw, a Philadelphia Police car parked outside, i went in to ask if there was an investigation under way, i was ushered back to the gate and the gate was padlocked. Sources tell us, accident investigators have been checking out a car here for several hours inside the car. The tip call to police follows a very high profile investigation and the announced of a reward totaling 45,000 for the person who killed jiana powell. This is an image of the silver altima. Witnesses and the victims siblings toad police that a silver car hit her. They then tell her the driver sped off toward 63rd and market and vanished. Police sources also tell us the car resembling the car being used in the hit and run was driven to fraser for repairs. Sources also tell us next police will tow the car to philadelphia, a search warrant will be obtained and then attempts to match car fragments left at the scene with the suspicious car. They will then interview all drives associated with the car. You may recall, jiannas older brother who was holding her can says he thought it was a man driving the car. Reporter yeah, at this hour, homicide detectives are interviewing the boys mother and her boyfriend but sources are telling us tonight they are being uncooperative. The 2yearold suffered some bleeding and internal injuries and this case is being called a suspicious death. She dont deserve that. Reporter the god mother of little zair told us outside the rooming house where the 2yearold was found unresponsive. A 911 call came from the home in kensington this morning. Zai zaires mother and her boyfriend was holding the boy. Family, neighbors and friends are trying to make sense of it all as crime scene investigators combthrough the second floor of the home where little zaire is expected to spend his last moments. She needs to confess, let us know what happened, like dont hide nothing. Reporter neighbors tell me that zaires mother posted a picture of her dead son on social media within hours of his passing. Now detectives are in the middle of their investigation. So far no arrests have been made, but we will keep you posted on the latest on this investigation. Severe storms slammed into parts of the southeast last night, killing five people, injuring more than a dozen others in tennessee. A couple died when their house was hit in what what was possibly a tornado. Reports of tornadoes came in from at least six different areas, but storms also brought some relief today to parts of tennessee dealing with deadly wildfires. Reporter the pair was walking past this street, they passed two very visible surveillance cameras. It has pilot around here asking what were they thinking . The Surveillance Video clearly shows two men, one holding a wine glass walking towards the fresh market. The City Law Department confirms one of the men in the video is City Attorney duncan lloyd. Oh, my gosh, youre kidding . Wow. Reporter we went to an address associated with boyd, but no one was home. According to the city solicit fors officer, boyd had already contacted Philadelphia Police, but when we asked this afternoon. Around 1 30 this morning, two officers were patrolling in kensington when they saw a man approaching a parked car. When they approached, the man punched, kicked, head butted and assaulted the officer. The officers were able to get control and hand cuff the 32yearold man, the two officers are expected to be okay. Farther to the south, we have got some 70s, harrington, ellendale, georgetown, lincoln and they did get into the low 70s in parts of the area. A few showers, maybe some thunderstorms this evening coming through the area, and look how mild it is, temperatures may actually go up for several hours here and then in the middle of the night, we have showers and storms coming through with the actual cold front, but by tomorrow morning, its still warm, but theres no fog, theres no showers, no rain tomorrow at all.
