Reporter this is actually a Different Group of demonstrators than were out earlier today. About ten minutes ago a large group that was in ritten house square combined with the group that was in front of the hotel and hit the streets. Theyre on the move. This was not planned so police are reacting. You can see a number of bicycle officers as well as the Philadelphia Police department. Theyre preventing these people from going toward the hotel. Thatset where the gop is meeting. This huge crowd of demonstrators is filling Market Street. Theyve been marching as much as police will allow them. This part of Market Street between 13th and 10th street is closed because of the people in the streets. Again, earlier there was a completely Different Group of demonstrators. Those folks focused on healthcare. With picket signs and chants for change. Todays march circled around city hall. 1,500 demonstrators turned the corner on to Market Street heading straight toward the hotel where President Trump was speaking. We want healthcare. We want that now. We want to feel protected. Reporter protesters are worried. Well see what happens. Reporter the crowd was peaceful. Secret service and Homeland Security were protecting the hotel. We want to make sure everyone is safe, including the protesters. Reporter this is 13th and market the furthest the protesters can get. Last april an amtrak train hit and killed two workers. Tonight we learned the engineer had drugs in his system. Mitch blocker joins us now with the new information just released today. In the last few hours, we have learned the engineer tested positive for drugs and a rail worker says a routine safety device was not available. We now have the first look at the last moments before a deadly amtrak collision. Amtrak 89 hit and killed two maintenance workers in chester last april. We have one level three walking wounded. One. Doa. Were going to check the other portion of the tracks. Reporter according to documents released this afternoon, amtrak 89s engineer tested positive for marijuana and opioids. The ntsb explains the openioids as morphine he was given after the crash for his injuries. In a statement, amtrak says drug use in the work place is unacceptable and not tolerated. One employee testing positive for drugs or alcohol is too many. The railroad says it is going to strengthen its drug testing program. The ntsb investigation also confirms what we first reported weeks after the crash. There were no shunting devices. Amtrak had routinely stopped using shunting devices from what we can see. One of the crew members says the Safety Devices are not regularly available or used.
