That storm not taking that turn back out to sea just yet, right . Not yet. It will eventually. The question is will it run out of room and hit South Carolina before it does make that. And if it hits landfall there, there will be more damage in South Carolina than what youve seen in florida. And you havent even seen all the damage thats occurred in florida yet. You can see just how big this storm is. You can get an idea. Florida, georgia, South Carolina, north carolina. Its covering the whole area. Thats how big it is. And the most intense part of that, right around the eye. This is called the eyewall. And fortunately it stayed just offshore. This is the track of the eye. This is the florida east coast. You can see how close it was and how it stayed 20 to 30 to 40 miles offshore the whole time. But it is still crushing northeast florida. You can see these big bands coming in from the northeast. But the heaviest, the eyewall is still out over the ocean. The problem is the eyewall moving to the north, guess what is in its way . South carolina. Thats what were going to be watching tonight. 110 Miles Per Hour category 2 storm. It dropped five miles an hour. The categories have to start and end somewhere, but its not that big a deal that it went from a 3 to a 2. As we go through the night tonight, its headed towards savannah, then makes a right turn. How fast that right turn is will of course be critical. Still over 100 miles an hour when it gets to South Carolina. 90 Miles Per Hour when its passed charleston. Then it makes that right turn. And then another right turn, and its going around in a circle, but does not come up in our direction. Like a typical hurricane would at this time of the year, come straight up. So that cold front thats coming through tomorrow is really going to save us. There really arent any computer models that show anything else. Coming to the east, then to the south. As unusual as that track is, theres a lot of computer models agreeing on that. Maybe going to florida, maybe going to the bahamas. But it will be much, much weaker. 71 degrees now. We got up to 78 today, 74 lehigh valley. We have beautiful skies across the area. Theres moisture starting to advance. We have a cold front coming in from the west. Thats all going to combine to produce some showers. Not so much first thing in the morning. It will be a cloudy day. Then here come the showers. During the afternoon, the temperature only in the low 70s. And then the heavier rain tomorrow night and into sunday morning at the shore, its going to be the heaviesheaviest. It will last the longest at the jersey shore. The weekend forecast only has rain on sunday. Right there, jersey shore, southern delaware, much more sunshine, cooler weather, a lot of clouds saturday and some showers. But its not a total washout.
