This is the corner where this happened. You mentioned the intersection of 66th and haverford avenue. Police tell us a man was walking with an infant in a stroller when a driver hit that father. Some video here from the scene a little while ago. The baby is fine. They were also walking with a dog, the dog is okay as well. Police say the driver of the car was arrested on suspicion of dui according to investigators. This happened shortly after 8 00 this morning. A busy time on this already busy stretch of road. In fact, there is a school just less than a block from where we are right here so this could have been a whole lot worse. Fortunately just a few scratches as police questioned the man behind the wheel. Live in West Philadelphia this morning. Im matt delucia, nbc 10 news. Matt, thank you. Philadelphia police are investigating two stabbings that happened in center city. This was the scene at 23rd and walnut streets. Police say the man was stabbed in the hand. It happened around 6 00 a. M. He is expected to be okay. A short time later, someone was slashed in the face at 21st and arch streets. Police are trying to find out if the two incidents are connected. So far no one has been arrested. A fire broke out this morning inside an unoccupied store front at the italian market. This is the corner of 9th and ellsworth streets. You can see the firefighters on the scene. We know the fire is under control but no word on what started it and no one there was hurt. In philadelphias germantown section. Police are trying to figure out what started this house fire near the corner of north 21st and west 65th avenue. This happened around 5 30 this morning and crews were able to put the flames out a short time later. Police say everyone did make it out safely. And police are investigating a gas station robbery in north philadelphia. This happened on north broad street around 2 00 this morning. Police say a man went into the gas station with a gun but its still unclear what he took when he left. The employee inside was not hurt and police are still looking for a suspect. If we didnt have any past weather, we would say today is an unusually mild day except that its ten degrees colder than yesterday. We have a fair amount of sunshine, flags blowing hard. Police say they plan to patrol the area. A Philadelphia Police officer could be released from the hospital today after he was injured in a hitandrun. Investigators say the officer was responding to reports of a person with a gun last night when a man in a car with two other passengers drove his vehicle toward the officer. The officer hit the wind shield, broke his leg and had cuts to his head. The car and the passengers were located, but the driver did get away. A stray bullet hits an 11yearold walking home from school and this Morning Police are looking for the gunman who pulled the trigger. Investigators say the gunman was shooting at another man on franklin and lucerne in the hunting park section of philadelphia yesterday afternoon. The young victim was caught in the cross fire. Police are trying to find a man who robbed a restaurant in northWest Philadelphia. This happened yesterday before 5 00 p. M. When a man pulled a handgun on an employee at the Crown Chicken restaurant and demanded money. The suspect ran from the restaurant with an unknown amount of cash. Fortunately no one was hurt. In center city, the fbi is asking for the publics help finding the man who robbed a bank yesterday. Authorities say a man entered a pnc bank at 11th and market streets around 2 00 p. M. He handed the teller a note demanding money. After getting an undisclosed amount of cash the suspect left on foot. If you happen to recognize him or know the suspect, youre asked to call police. Another bank robbery in philadelphias frankford neighborhood is keeping detectives busy. Police are trying to figure out who robbed a Citizens Bank yesterday afternoon around 12 45. The man was wearing a 76ers cap and took off after demanding and getting cash from the teller. Pennsylvania attorney general Kathleen Kane is facing more legal trouble. A legal aide is filing a wrongful termination lawsuit against her. Her spokesman and chief of staff, george moore, a former Human Resources analyst, says he was fired for recommending that kanes chief of staff be terminated over Sexual Harassment complaints. Moore says he recommended the firing just two days before the chief of staff was promoted to be kanes top administrator. Hundreds can participate in the annual controlled deer hunt at Brandywine Creek state park. The park will be closed to the general public.
