Near 90 in wilmington, at 589. And look at the 80s for new jersey. Even at the shore, were seeing a warmup, Atlantic City reporting 89 degrees. Indeed, warmer than yesterday at this time. Up by 6 for philadelphia and allentown. Wilmington is 8 degrees warmer along with trenton. And you factor in the humidity, and it already feels like 104 degrees in dover, where the humidity is elevated. 93 is the feelslike temperature in philadelphia. And 97 degrees in vineland. And the temperatures are still climbing. Afternoon numbers into the middle 90s. Thats without the humidity. Factor in the humidity, 99 degrees is what our feelslike in center city. Sunshine and 90s for the suburbs and the Lehigh Valley. No sign of the showers that we started with first thing this morning. No sign of those cooler temperatures, either. Bordentown, 93, will feel like 97 degrees this afternoon, even at the shore, topping out near 90 degrees, and it was the evaluated humidity, it will feel like close to 100 degrees in stone harbor and right up to that mark more cape may. Right now officials are keeping watch on a philadelphia neighborhood after a chemical leak at a warehouse. G street is still closed between erie and venango in kensington because of a chemical that began leaking from its tank yesterday. Some businesses were evacuated. Now, this chemical can explode if it reaches high temperatures, but were told that is not a threat at this point. Crews are cleaning up the problem. New from overnight, repair crews are fixing a water main break in West Philadelphia on haverford avenue near 41st street. Thats where the pipe broke around 12 30 this morning. Were told the break didnt cause any significant damage. Lets get a check on your roads now with jessica boyington. Shes keeping an eye on that for us. Jessica, sounds like people will be pumping that airconditioning in their cars today. Definitely and maybe if youre heading down the shore, you can roll them down for a little bit. And youre actually going pretty quickly, so maybe you dont know the airconditioning at that point. Winds blowing through the car. Everythings moving along. There is construction, a lane blocked in both directions until noon today. So a little bit of a delay, because of that. But other than that, this is headed southbound right here. Mansfield township, there is a debris field on the new jersey turnpike headed southbound around exit 6, around the p. A. Turnpike. Just watch for some small lane restrictions there. Also in new jersey, in hadden township, a traffic signal down on route 168 headed southbound around route 130. But our p. A. Majors look pretty much the same as they usually do. Septa is adding express bus service to some Regional Rail lines next month, a move that could help ease congestion as septa works to get all its trains back on the tracks. Septa took more than 100 cars out of service just before the fourth of july. Originally, it said it wanted those cars to be back in service by labor day, but now it says the cars should be back by early november. The buses that will start running the day after labor day. Thats when the trains could really get more packed with school back in session. In montgomery county, a septa employee is in jail, accused of stealing more than a half Million Dollars worth of parts. Prosecutors say kyle allen of langhorne stole more than 200 batteries, catalytic converts, spools of wire and other electrical components. Officials say he hit septa stations across three counties. He allegedly sold the parts to scrap yards. Happening today, Vice President joe biden will be in wilmington, talking about the future of rail transit on the east coast. Bidens expected to announce a new 2. 5 billion deal between amtrak and a firm that builds highspeed trains. The Vice President will speak this afternoon at the amtrak station that bears his name. He was a longtime amtrak customer between women tonk and washington, d. C. Philadelphia police are looking for this man in a robber in center city. Police say the suspect asked a man walking at 22nd and market streets wednesday night for a dollar. When the man refused, he threatened to kill the victim and started reaching into a backpack while demanding the victims wallet. The victim gave him his wallet. Philadelphia police also need your help identifying a bank robber. He hit the Republic Bank on frankford avenue in homeford yesterday. He gave the teller a note demanding money and ran off with the cash. Now to the nbc 10 south jersey bureau. An intense manhunt is underway for the person who shot an 8yearold girl in the head. Police have increased patrols in camden while doctors at Cooper University hospital are working to keep Gabrielle Hill carter alive. Meantime, as you just saw, balloons were tied to her front porch outside her home. Thats where she was shot wednesday night. Police say at least four men were shooting at each other, and hill carter got caught up in the middle of it. A reward has been increased to 6,000 for anyone who has information leading to an arrest. The Pennsylvania State senate will reconvene this sunday for a vote to possibly name the states new attorney general. Governor tom wolf has nominated bruce beemer to take over the see.
