Matt delucia is live from Atlantic County. Reporter you see some of the cars trying to navigate this roadway thats flooded out. Were about a block away from the bay and the streets and walks are underwater. Throughout the morning we saw the water come over the banks and affect drivers trying to get to work and kids trying to get to school. Many taking the risk as the area saw another high tied around sunrise. Winds kicked up as well, as residents discovered their homes surrounded by water. A near repeat of what folks along the shore saw exactly this time last year. We spoke with people who are dealing with another day and the remnants of this noreaster. Theres a lot of debris all over the place, trash cans. People were just telling me a building over here, the wind blew off a lot of the siding. Really a mess. Reporter the Coastal Flood Advisory just expired, so now folks around the shore are examining the damage and cleaning up. Matt delucia, nbc 10 news. A narrow escape, a fallen tree smashed into a car in galloway township. Police say the driver and passengers got away with minor injuries. If philadelphia today, authorities will do an autopsy on a man who police think was killed by a company sign blown down by stormy weather. Investigators say the sign fell and pinned the man to a car. Around the city, downed trees and power lines damaged homes and cars. The car was parked right there where the sign fell. This is windier than the hurricane a couple of years ago. It was super windy. Take a look at what the wind from the noreaster did to this piece of scaffolding in jersey city. It went sailing through the air just like it was a little toothpick. Luckily no workers were on the skaflgt at the time when look at that, right, its startling. The wind was so strong it slammed the scaffolding into the side of the building. Closer to home, light showers and crowds will linger today. A live outside at center city, philadelphia, as you can see from the wind blowing, it is still pretty windy out there and just overall dreary. Nbc 10 first alert meteorologist krystal klei is here with your most accurate forecast. Were looking at conditions that are still gray, damp outside. Not going to be nearly as rough as yesterday. Weve lifted the first alert. You can see on radar, still showers passing through our area and a few flakes trying to make it to the ground, although temperatures at the surface a tad bit too warm. Were look at the center of the storm now off to our east, which means were seeing the eastern most edges of our viewing zone getting clipped bit rain. That extends right near Philadelphia County then down through parts of Camden County and burlington coin as weglling. Temperatures are above freezing out there. Actually were looking at the same deal near parts of Atlantic City and galloway township. A few flakes are trying to mix in, but for the most part this is a light rain event and nothing like we saw yesterday. Winds are still up. This is still an active situation for the rest of new england, as you track farther to the northeast. But for us this will start moving out for the rest of today and the winds will start lessening as well. Theyve already done so compared to yesterday. 25 in mehlville. Atlan Atlantic City, yesterday we saw gusts exceed 60 Miles Per Hour. The way the winds are going now, theyre an offshore snow instead of an onshore flow. Thats a good thing. That means the threat of coastal flooding does not exist as we go into high tide this afternoon, because were now looking at the winds forcing those waves outward instead of inward. The damage has already been done in those areas. Here is a look at the temperatures right now. Were above freezing everywhere except for mt. Pocono at 31 degrees, good news as we see light precip falling. 41 in philadelphia, mehlville in 40, 41 in dover. Redding, 42. Lancaster, 43 degrees. The focus of today, not necessarily on the temperatures, although it will be a chilly when you knew its on watching the moisture moving out. Tomorrow, temperatures climb back up. Were paying attention to those british closures because thats going to affect the most people. The bridge thats closed on the new jersey turnpike connecting the p. A. Turnpike was a huge problem yesterday morning. You can see for structural repairs that will be closed for the next several weeks or so. From the p. A. Turnpike eastbound, just around the bensalem exit, northbound down to 295 southbound. Once you get to 195 eastbound you can get off at exit 6, the new jersey turnpike. Initially you can head to the scudder falls bridge. Right now you can see theyre actually doing a little bit better, all in the green there. Speaking of 195 a little earlier, were also watching 195 on the webbed side just around Hamilton Square road. Just when we come to this shot here, they move the camera. On the westbound side theres overturned dump truck. It looks like some of that has seemed to have cleared. There is an overturned dump truck on the westbound side closing part of that ramp as well. Northeast philly, an accident on route 1 southbound, just around adams avenue. Thats in some of the outer lanes. Remember that the Atlantic City rail line is suspended because of that bridge stuck in the open position at delair bridge malfunction. The regional rails are dealing with 30minute delays due to wire problems. Police in philadelphia say a pizza Delivery Driver who was shot in a robbery attempt chased away his attackers by firing his own gun. Investigators say two teenagers try to rob the driver last night while he was making his delivery near 54th and yoakam street. One teen shot the driver in the arm. He shot back and the teens took off running. Its not clear if either of the robbers was hit. Police say the driver took himself to the hospital for treatment. Two Philadelphia Police officers are expected to be okay after being hurt while struggling with a burglary suspect. The officers were trying to arrest the man after he broke into a home on orthodox the free in frankfurt around 2 00 this morning. He was taking a bike and some tools and the officers got there. They say he resisted arrest and during the struggle, their hands were injured. No one was hurt at a fire at a Chinese Restaurant in wingfield heights. Firefighters brought it under control in just minutes. Closing arguments in philadelphia are under way in a civil trial involving the deadly Market Street building collapsed. The building, being demolished, killed several people. The families are suing the developer and his company, the demolition project representative, the excavator operator, and the salvation army. Two defendants convicted on criminal charges are already serving prison time. Philadelphia will soon be the first city in the country where employers are banned from asking about an applicants salary history. Mayor kenney signed the bill yesterday. Comcast has threatened legal action, saying the bill goes too far in dictating how companies can interact with potential workers. Comcast is the Parent Company of nbc 10. A philadelphia man had his life changed in a flash. But a bomb blast in his apartment in center city isnt stopping him from a recovery supported by loved ones. This is an inspiring story. This morning, the white house says the president will take executive action to advance the keystone and dakota pipeline projects. He signed executive orders to move both pipelines forward. Atlantic city still has a few flakes mixing in with the rain. Overall, light rain, nothing like what we saw yesterday. As you saw a few minutes ago, winds are lighter as well. A closer look added where were seeing showers, along Atlantic City north through ship bottom and tracking into Monmouth County. Lighter showers up through camden, burlington, and mercer counties as well, through trenton, extending into bucks county. Abington, you see a mix of a few flakes. Temperatures at the surface are all above freezing, considerably. In the upper 30s, even low 40s, which Means Nothing is going to be sticking to the ground. New jersey neighborhood temperatures, just to show off what im talking about, these numbers are too warm for us to see anything stick. Peak gusts throughout the region, around 20 to 30 Miles Per Hour. A little higher along the shore. As i mentioned earlier, the flow comes in from the northwest, which is much better for those coastal points. It is forcing waves outward instead of trying to force them inwards leading to coastal flooding concerns. Nonetheless, weve seen water washing through. Things do get better.
