Downtown North Carolina protesters knocked a confederate statue in the latest sign of erupting tensions following a weekend of hate. It was dedicated in 1924. Activists have demanded for years the statue be removed to show solidarity. Meanwhile, the man behind a a wheel of a car that crashed into a crowd of demonstrators he understands the charges against him. Among them seconddegree murder and hitandrun. Members of a Bucks County Community hit the streets to rise up against hate and violence. There was a walk in and vigil in response to the violence. When officers and drug agents arrived, they found cords all over the house. One could take the whole block down. These are always of concern. I think marijuana should be criminalized and that should be taxed and sent to philadelphia schools. The homeowner was not home at the time. Police know who he is. That owner faces drug charges and risking reckless endangerment. A public hearing is scheduled on a medical Marijuana Dispensary in north philadelphia. City councilman is is opposed to the dispensary saying it would operate too close to a daycare center. The president of the company that would operate the dispensary said they are keeping their options open, but theres a location that would create jobs and Spark Development in the community. A philadelphia neighborhood is on edge after an elderly woman was tied up with belts in her home. Family and friends are thankful the 84yearold victim was not hurt. Police say a man broke into her home yesterday afternoon, bound her with belts in the basement and tried to rob her. After the man ran off, the woman managed to untie herself and call for help. He had her dtied up in the basement. Seems like a freak thing around here. I have to assume fst not a trend. Were told the victim was shaken up but will be okay.
