No problems or backups at least passing that point to get through. Heres route 47 in dennis township around route 347. Look into the lights you can see snowflakes falling and the snow accumulating over into the center median. They do look shiny which to me says theyre wet. Could be a slippery spot there as well. For the last 45 minutes we were caught in the backup as dozens of other drivers are right now. We have a few still pictures from the scene. Before we get to them, behind me, my photographer will zoom in. What were focusing on right now, this vehicle you see stopped right here with the flashing lights, that is one of the two vehicles involved in this deadly crash. That is a salt truck that pulled over to the side of the road. Its a few hundred yards away from where theres another vehicle, a fourdoor sedan where were told the driver of that sedan died in this crash. It happened probably about two hours ago on route 55 south near the exit for route 56. These two vehicles, were told by state police, are the only vehicles involved in the crash. We do know it is a salt truck, a dump truck type vehicle carrying salt, presumably for the weather that weve been experiencing in the overnight hours. I can tell you, when we first drove up to the scene, it was snowing a little bit more. Now it really has stopped snowing. There are a few flakes just blowing around. But were not seeing the snow we saw about 45 minutes ago. Presumably the vehicle was on the road transporting salt because of this winter weather. They have not released the name or the identity of the driver who was killed in that crash. The driver of the salt truck was taken to a nearby hospital for injuries. Well stay on scene. As soon as we have more fn, well pass it on to you. One of the things that happened in the last 15 minutes is they allowed they opened up the shoulder around that scene, so traffic is slowly getting by.
