We want to start you off with the weather. Were issuing a first alert for Lehigh County and philadelphia. Lets get to erika martin. Things are dry but a little deceiving. The first alert has been issued for Lehigh Valley. Berks county. Montgomery county. Keep in mind, North Chester county. I do think youll see snow as well. Start through 11 00 a. M. Then changes to widespread rain showers. However all of that clears by 5 3 00 p. M. Keep in mind, untreated surface, stay clear of them if you can. Satellite images showing this is making it to the ground there for berks county. Everything is moving from the southwest to the northeast. Future weather in the Lehigh Valley showing us snow showers, again, not going to stick for the most part. However, we do have to keep in mind, untreated surfaces will be. Ill have more information coming up in just a little bit. Thanks. Over in new jersey, updates here, a tractor trailer accident downed wires at the scene as well. So theres cleanup on the way around the area of route 73 around high street. Now, that crash initially occurred on the northbound side. You can see in this red strip. Thats where we had part of the northbound side closed down. But im getting word that the northbound lanes are back open. So there will be residual delays because of that. The northbound lanes are still open. Southbound still closed. You probably want to avoid this area. Renola road can get you by as youre moving through maple shade, especially on the northbound side of route 73. Also pilesgrove township, on the turnpike, approaching delaware memorial bridge, you might pass it but all lanes are still open. Thank you, tracy. We took the northeast extension to get here. We have seen quite a few penndot trucks sitting on the side of the road waiting for activity to happen as erika has been mentioning, its going to happen in the 5 00 hour. Police tell us this crumpled truck crashed into another car and hit a parked car. On second and berks, in north philadelphia, Police Arrested one person on suspicion of dui. New this morning, the fire marshal is investigating four fires that happened along the same street in philadelphia. Smoke was still pouring out of this row home on 8th street in kensington at the scene just after 1 00 this morning. Firefighters were working from the inside out. Police tell us another home, just a few doors down along with two cars on the street were on fire. Nobody was living in the home and nobody was hurt. This morning, investigators will also be trying to figure out what caused a fire here at the hookah bar. The fire starts around 2 30 on lancaster avenue. Right around drexel university. Investigators tell us the fire may have started in the apartment above the bar. Nobody here was hurt either. 5 35 this thursday. A south jersey woman is in the hospital. Her great granddaughter is reunited with their family after the two of them spent days missing in the woods. Rural virginia. 71yearold Barbara Briley and 5yearold lamyra left their home in mays land on christmas eve. They were on their way to see relatives in South Carolina but never made it. And then found them on this property in din woody county. Briley was found against a tree unconscious. Investigators were able to track a signal from her cell phone yesterday helping to narrow her search. Investigators say briley and lemiamyra survived on juice bo and snacks. They eventually found Surveillance Video of briley asking how to operate the gps. Friends and family say they were grateful. When i heard she was found, i was thankful because its been nerveracking knowing she was missing. Were happy that theyre found safe. Safe and sound. Investigators say its still unclear exactly how the pair ended up stuck in the woods. This morning, hollywood is mourning a double tragedy. Actress Debbie Reynolds has died just the day after the death of her daughter and act tress carrie fisher. Today daily News Features a picture of the duo and the line the next morning. She died last night. Her son said she had a stroke. The classic 1952 film singin in the rain made Debbie Reynolds famous at the age of 19. She starred in more than 20 films inned 50s and 60s. Shes got an oscar nomination for the unsinkable molly brown. Fans paid tribute to her. We grew up with her watching her on tv all the time. I heard of a broken heart. I dont think she would ever have recovered. And now she doesnt have to. Debbie reynoldss son todd fisher told the Associated Press before she died, she said i want to be with carrie. Thats in the sun comes out just a little bit. The Lehigh Valley start off with that wintry weather. Snow showers to a wintery mix and widespread rain by about 11 00 a. M. Noon. And delaware seeing widespread rain showers. New jersey same deal there. And for the jersey shore. Were seeing widespread rain showers by about noon. And then everything clearing again, 3 00 to 4 00 p. M. Certainly not going to be a washout. I do want to show you temperatures for the Lehigh Valley. Theyre at or below the freezing mark. Currently at 32 degrees. Reading at 30. Fleetwood also at the freezing mark. Thats why were seeing the potential for snow showers and wintry mix. Easton currently at 31. Bath at 26 degrees. Everything starting to improve by about 9 00, 10 00 a. M. As this rain snow line starts to move northward. And then tracking widespread rain across the entire Delaware Valley. The birth mother of a 14yearold girl who was murdered talked only to us. She tells us her parental rights were stripped in 2004. The three siblings went to live with sarah packer and her husband. Grace disappeared last july and her remains were found near a dam on halloween. Huntinger is pleading for justice. How dare them act like better parents than i was when theyre really not. Theyre evil people. Police say the adopted mother sarah packer is out on bond and remains a person of interest in graces murder. 5 45. The twin brother of a man killed executionstyle earlier this week in philadelphia is talking about nbc10. I want the last of my brother to be about a tragedy. I want it to be about what he was about, service and keeping that about domanable spirit alive. He lost control of his suv and crashed into a car near the walnut bridge. Philadelphia police say it was his girlfriend Martina Wescott who pulled the trigger. Homicide detectives at her home, according to police after the shooting, wescott ran to her mothers house and confessed to the shooting. The mother called Philadelphia Police and helped her daughter turn herself in. Police say wescott was livid over the breakup, so she shot bruce. Shes charged with murder. Check out this video. This morning, police are looking for a man you see smashing his way through the front door of a kohls store. This is lower makesfield township. He made his way to the jewelry counter where he did more smashing. Police say he made off with anywhere from 60,000 to 100,000 of jewelry and other items. A new Drug Testing Program will begin in middle schools in lacey township. Parents must fill out a form giving schools permission for random testing on seventh and eighth grade students. We talked about ocean county equipping nurses with a life saving drug for heroin and overdoses. All nurses in the county have received a supply of narcan. Ocean county had the most deaths in new jersey this year, 180. The story of the the nutcracker is 200 years old this year. To celebrate the wilsonwarner house in odessa county has been dressed. It sounds like its going to be with us through much of the morning. Right. The deal is this is exclusive to Lehigh Valley. Parts of upper Montgomery County. With the mix . Right. Everybody else is getting rain by 2 00, 3 00, p. M. , we have to keep in mind that those folks have a clear idea of what they can expect for this morning, tracy and rosemary. Including Poor Visibility due to that snow. And of course, keep in mind that any untreated surfaces could get a little slick and of course dangerous. As you look at the bottom of the screen, you will see your local neighborhood forecast. Otherwise, locally, it is pretty much dry in and around philadelphia. Your neighborhoods right now, were seeing mainly 30s. Above the freezing mark for westbound area. Andorra, 32, and parkwood currently at 32 degrees. Were starting to see a solar flow here around new jersey. And notice that this is why conditions will get warmer, and this is why that wintry mix will change over to widespread rain. So, currently at 31 degrees, pemberton, 29. Even though the temperatures are below the freezing mark, we dont have any rain here yet. So this will not change over by the time the rain makes it here. Everything will be above the freezing mark with a warmer southerly flow. Hamilton is currently in the 30s. Robinsville 33. And the first alert is for the Lehigh Valley. Berks county, Montgomery County. Keep in mind, you will see some snow and wintery mix. We will see this continue by about 10 00, 11 00 a. M. This is where we do expect the warmer air to push northward and everything will start to improve. What can we expect. Slick roads especially on untreated surfaces. Lehigh valley. Hourbyhour forecast, picks up on the snow showers, by 7 00 a. M. , everybody is seeing widespread snow showers for foxburg, lehigh, northampton. And chester county. Getting reports of light flurries. This will start to improve as the day progresses. That warmer air moving northward from the south. Here you start to see the rain snow, all of that colder air starting to retreat by 11 00. Certainly by noon, widespread rain showers and everything clearing. Snowfall potential according to one model, mt. Pocono, 3 inches for you, allentown, about an inch.
