A firefighter is injured in the battle to get the fire under control. Matt delucia live at the scene. I know you talked to the fire chief. What do you know . Reporter what we know is that one firefighter was taken to the hospital. Fortunately no other injuries including to the folks inside this house at the time. What i can tell you, there was a lot of smoke you might have noticed when we saw you at the top of the hour. Smoke has dissipated, so firefighters are getting a handle on this. We moved to the back of the home on zimmerman avenue, around the delaware river. This started at 2 30 this morning and got intense very fast. Look at the video when we arrived on scene. Heavy flames in the back of the house. There was trouble early on with a fire hydrant, getting that to work. That complicated things a little bit. The good news is, as i mentioned, everyone inside made it out safely. There were two families with children inside. They got out. Im told that there are four apartments. Its through stories high, but the top floors collapsed as a result. A couple of firefighter had to jump from a firefighters had to jump from a window to escape. One had an injured ankle. Neighbors told us they were hoping this wouldnt spread to their homes. My wife just woke me up, and we heard loud bangs. We looked outside, and there was a fire. It was shooting up in the air. So firefighters had to get down there at one point. I see the flames through the woods. This was an effort overnight. The firefighters will be here for a while. Thank you. Overnight, a philadelphia fire truck collided with an suv in north philadelphia. Nbc10 on the scene around midnight at 22nd and york street. A person in the suv was treated for minor injuries. That firefighter appears to have flames on him and is doing okay after burning debris fell on him. Sky force 10 shows the fire that burned for several hours. The onestory building along west 3rd and chester was filled with mattresses. No one was hurt. Investigators are working to determine a cause. Hes the Camden County father charged with murdering his son, brendan, in 2015. Allegedly because the child got in the way of his relationship with a teenage girlfriend. Half of the jury is picked. Opening statements could start tomorrow. Police at the jersey shore are looking for a man who is driving up to children and talking to them. Wildwood crest police say the man in his 50s drove up as two girls walked home from school. Then he did the same the next day to a boy playing in front of his home. The man was last seen in a light gold suv. A new lawsuit stemming from the deadly prison standoff in delaware pins the blame on two former governors. Prison guards who survived the 18hour standoff at Vaughn Correctional Center gathered publicly for the first time yesterday to announce the lawsuit. It claims former governors jack marquel and ruthann minner ignored regulations to beef up staff at the prison after an inmate uprising in 2005. The lawsuit alleges the state continued using excessive overtime rather than hiring more officers. Also charged that these policies were hid friend our elect hidden from our elected representatives in the general assembly. They never knew what was going on. The family of lieutenant steven floyd, killed in the standoff, also attended the announcement. A criminal investigation into who killed him continues. The Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority selected a contractor to redevelopment 36 damaged or deteriorating properties. The work is expected to take about two years to complete. In may of 1985, the city dropped a bomb on the home where move activists lived. The group was in an armed standoff with police and had terrorized the neighborhood.
