If youre heading on 95 and the schuylkill expressway and the blue route southbound from the schuylkill to 95 is only a 15minute trip. What Police Describe as a large knife or perhaps a sword. Nbc 10 on the scene on juniper drive in cherry hill as police took someone away in handcuffs. They have not said what role this person may have played in the stabbing or if hes been charged at all with any crime. No word yet on a motive. Another stabbing, this one in southwest philly. Someone robbed and stabbed an auto shop owner 20 times. Police say the robber went into the shop about 5 minutes before closing time last night, and in a matter of two minutes, police say he robbed and repeatedly stabbed the owner. On top of that, he locked th that the owner managed to call 911. John walker says police had to kick in the door to save his life. Living in this community myself, i know the people here. Police are already reviewing video which shows the robber. Police also say the timing of the crime right before the owner was closing up for the night was no accident. They think the suspect knew exactly what he was doing. Its 5 02. I should have walked away. That testimony from one of the men charged in the Center City Building collapse as the trial gets closer to wrapping up. On the stand yesterday was the one man who has admitted playing a part in the deadly accident. Benschop took a deal that will give him 10 to 20 years in prison. He was the heavy Machine Operator working on the demolition at the collapse site. Six people were killed and more than a dozen hurt when a brick wall fell on to a Salvation Army thrift store two years ago. He testified against this man, campbell. His Construction Company was in charge of the demolition. Hes facing up to life in prison if hes found guilty. Police say a deadly Home Invasion in Montgomery County last month was an act of revenge. Authorities arrested smith and ali yesterday. They say ali wanted revenge after his exgirlfriend refused to take him back. Investigators say the two shot and killed the exgirlfriends father, kevin brown inside his lower moreland township home. His exgirlfriend was able to hide with her infant son. Investigators say what ali told her is proof that this was an act of vengeance. He told her she wanted another chance. She refused. He told her, if we cant be together, someones got to go. Ali and smith are now charged with seconddegree murder. An emergency room doctor in the Lehigh Valley is charged with sexually assaulting two children. The doctor turned himself in this week. Police say he has been molesting a 5yearold girl and a 10yearold boy for the last four years. Prosecutors say the assault did not happen while he was working as a doctor. The decision to charge was made based on the statements of the child. And from what i was told, the children are very credible and them. Were looking forward to our day in court. Our hope is that notwithstanding the type of charge this is that everybody will keep an open mind. My client claims he is innocent of these charges. The doctor is free on bail. Hes not been practicing medicine because of these pending charges. Today marks 101 days the state of pennsylvania has been operating without a budget. And local students say theyre paying the price. Students from several schools across philadelphia walked out of class yesterday in protest of the budget stalemate. They say lawmakers should not allow education to take a backseat to bipartisan bickering. Theyre playing the politics game and were the pawns and it needs to come to a stop. Students are calling for a solution to end the stalemate. They say is destroying their education. Delaware county is in desperate need for volunteer firefighters and ems workers. County officials have put out the call for their own rescue. Nbc 10 joins us live with a look at how this recruitment drive will work. Ka katy . Reporter the fire chief says it best. Theres a, quote, urgent need for volunteers. To put it in perspective, the number of state volunteers throughout pennsylvania over the last few decades has dropped from about 300,000 to just 50,000. Here, this fire station in delaware county, it will open its doors today and tomorrow to show off the inside. This fire house will do it as will other fire houses do it throughout delaware county. Its the areas first annual recruitment drive. And they want anyone who may be interested in volunteer Fire Fighting to stop in and learn more about what it entails. Now, the biggest need for help is often during the day when volunteers are tied up with their paying jobs. Now, this need for volunteers is not specific to delaware county. In preparation for this story, we went to abington, Montgomery County to see what theyre doing. When we arrived here just before 5 00, we found police tape blocking the intersection of 5th and south going north to lombard. You can also notice the water is gushing from the pavement. Now, weve reached out to the Philadelphia Water Department to find out exactly the size of the break that occurred when it occurred and how many customers in this area are affected. Now, as you might imagine, south street is busy, usually most of the day. Dozens of businesses in this area also expanding north, dozens of businesses, as you can see, at this intersection. Right now, we dont know the cause of the break. And we also dont know exactly what time the Water Department expects to return here to make repairs. The airman hailed a hero for stopping a french train attack is recovering this morning after being stabbed in his hometown. Airman first class Spencer Stone in serious condition with three stab wounds. He was out with friends when a fight spilled out of a bar in sacramento. Police say alcohol fueled the fight. Theyre looking for two men who took off in a car. And back here in our area, take a look at this Surveillance Video. Right here. Video of two men wanted for robbing a Delivery Driver in kensington. The deliveryman says one of the men pulled out a gun along North Hancock street last month, demanded his money and wallet. The video shows the men using the credit card at a gas station and a walmart a short time later. Both still on the loose. An update to a story you first saw on nbc 10. A nurse surrendered her license after using a dirty syringe to give dozens of flu shots. Now, this happened during a clinic at a Pharmaceutical Company in mercer county. Investigators say the nurse changed the needles between each patient but used the same syringe on 67 of the same workers. Theyre all be tested for hiv and hepatitis. New jerseys Health Department says the nurse is barred from practicing pending a further ruling from the bar of nursing. Investigators are trying to identify a couple caught on camera using counterfeit cash. Take a look at the pictures here. September 19th, investigators say these two used fake 100 bills at the walmart. If you happen to recognize them, youre asked to call police. A city in South Carolina agreed to pay a settlement in the case of an unarmed africanamerican man who was shot to death by a white Police Officer earlier this year. North charleston will pay 6. 5 million to the family of scott. Scott was running from the officer at the time. A bystander recorded the shooting with a cell phone. Slager was indicted on a murder charge in june. Being held without bond.
