Condition and there are no arrests. Philadelphia police are looking into a shooting that apparently stemmed from a fight in university city. Skyforce 10 over the scene last night. Investigators say a man was shot in the behind while a group of women were fighting at 39th and ludlow near market street. The shooting victim is in stable condition. Also new from overnight, one man is dead in philadelphia after he was shot and killed during a breakin. Nbc 10s Pamela Osborne is live outside Police Headquarters in center city. Tell us what happened. Tracy, i can also tell you that the children of the man that was killed were inside the home at the time that it happened. Police say theyre both under the age of 15. They were taken away to talk with detectives as they are still trying to piece all of this together this morning. Police say they got two calls from their home on marco street overnight. The first call came in around 12 20. The caller said someone was breaking into the house. At that time, police say the womans exboyfriend tried to get into the home through a kitchen window. The woman and her current boyfriend pushed him out but he tried cagain. The second time police say the exboyfriend managed to get in through a second story window. Once inside he started fighting with the woman and then her boyfriend in an upstairs bedroom. A few minutes later, police say they received a second call saying someone had been shot. When they got there, they found a 33yearold man with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to the hospital where he died. Police say the womans current boyfriend took off after that shooting. Theyre working to find out what the exboyfriend was doing there, where the current boyfriend is right now. Theyre asking him to come forward to speak with detectives. Again, police at this point in time saying its very early on in their investigation. Theres no word on if any charges or what charges could be filed as a result of this incident. Today, a legal team plans to spell out the results of their firms investigation into this railing collapse at the bb t pavilion in camden. Dozens of people were hurt during the collapse during the snoop dogg concert on august 5th. The law firm represents 15 of the victims. We checked with city inspectors following the collapse. They told us the venue was regularly inspected and didnt have any code issues. 5 03. A man accused of beating a toddler to death in a dispute over groceries is being held on a Million Dollars bail. Zachary tricochi stood with his head down in court yesterday as prosecutors talked about the final moments of his victims life. Officers say tricochi shoved his girlfriend in their pennsauken apartment because he was upset with the food she bought. When the 2yearold started to colleague, tricochi allegedly beat the boy to death. Afterwards, the family said they wish new jersey still had the death penalty. He killed my grandson. He should be killed. He shouldnt be sitting in no cell, ceating, getting phone calls and writing letters. The boys mother was at the courthouse yesterday but said she could not bear being inside the courtroom for tricochis hearing. A sports radio controversy sparked by a white sports talk producer pretending to be a stereotypical black caller. Dwayne from swedesboro checking in. Whats going on . How you doing, man. The producer at 97. 5 was a regular caller on the mike micanelli show. Kyle scott was the first to expose the fake caller on his blog. The fact that it was a young white kid doing sort of like stereotype of a black guy made it a lot worse. And sort of piled on whatever that initial shock was. Mike micanelli says he was not aware the caller was a fake. Its not clear what discipline the producer or staff will involve, if any. Nbc 10 could not reach management for comment. A Montgomery County community is being warned about west nile after mosquitos were fond with the disease. Officials in abington township say an advisory was emailed to residents there, warning them of the potential for west nile in the area. Breaking one of those habits of course is sleeping very, very late. That wont be happening too much longer for a lot of these kids. Were in the Christina School district right now. Students will be heading back to class next week. During the summer, its very easy to develop those habits where you go to bed late, wake up late. This is the time to prepare so that when School Starts you have that routine in place. Teachers have been busy the past few weeks getting their classrooms ready. Doctors are busy now talking to parents about what they need to do. A couple things to keep in mind, the big topic, one, make sure your kids do not walk to or from school alone. Have them walk in groups. Try to notice any changes in how they act. It could help pinpoint learning problems or bullying. Their backpack should weigh no more than 20 of your childs weight and use both straps on the backpack, not just one. The most important of all is sleep, getting that bedtime and wakeup routine started right now. If a child is 3 to 5, they need 12 hours and 6 to 13 they need 10 to 12 hours and our teenagers, 14 and above need 9 to 10 hours of sleep a night. We get them into that pattern, this way when they start school, theyre all ready. I need about 15 hours of sleep a night. Thats how i look like this every morning.
