Here is what happened. Around 11 30 a 35yearold man walked through the door with a gun and announced a robbery. The home owner inside, he was also armed. He shot the man twice, killing him. There were two women inside. They came rushing downstairs with their own guns drawn. As police were inside the house investigating the deadly shooting and the Home Invasion they tell us they found drugs, hundreds of dollars and packabling material. Very good possibility that this motive was to steal this narcotics related money. A man and his girlfriend are charged with killing a neighborhood block captain they worked with and befriended. According to police 50yearold james beat kathy wilson on friday. Among the fire crews out here on oakland street, were watching as probably three or four fire engines are still cleaning up a lot of water out here in the roadway. Early indications are that this may have sparked off in a home that is vacant here on oakland street about three quarters of the way down this block. Residents did notice heavy fire conditions. Crews encountered that. We are hearing that this was a vacant property but there is a possibility there may have been squatters in it at the time. We do not have word about injuries. It seems any one who may have been on the property has been removed. Ems responded to this scene and has been working out here but again, no word on injuries.
