Yesterday and the wind is not whipping as much as it was and we dont have snow in the forecast. Some positives. Thats good news because we did see snow showers yesterday, very brief and light. Philadelphia international and wilmington have been down to 30 degrees when we went on the air. Now its starting to warm up a little bit. We have a bit of an easterly wind blowing across the delaware towards Philadelphia International. Thats boosting the temperatures there. You still have to bundle up for most of the area. South jersey, 24 degrees. Dover at 28 degrees. We will see lots of sunshine. This is the view from here at the nbc 10 studios. Aly bit of a breeze will start us off at 8 00, just at 10 miles an hour. Well still be at 10 miles an hour at 11 00. Then it becomes southerly. That will help warm our temperatures during the afternoon hours in spite of the clouds coming in. Well see plenty of sunshine before the clouds take over. Completely clear this morning. Nice and clear at 8 00. 34 degrees. By 11 00, 45 degrees. Well be in the low 50s at 2 00 this afternoon. I expect us to warm into the middle 50s during the afternoon hours. The sunshine, so bright to start with during the day today. The sun coming up just before 7 00. In fact, were about 40 minutes well see brilliant sunshine today but as clear as it is today, clouds will start moving in this afternoon. And then overnight tonight well be tracking some showers in from the west. So at this time tomorrow morning well likely see showers in the area. And come tomorrow, theres a possibility of some showers and some thunderstorms. But then they move out by late in the afternoon and the evening. Might see a few showers during the Late Afternoon hours. But then on friday, cant completely rule out a chance of a shower for villanovas big parade. Through it all, the temperatures will be climbing. Were getting a cold start this morning. Well see the temperatures climb into the 60s tomorrow with the rain due in during the day tomorrow. So 32 degrees to start with. You can see the flag is at rest this morning with nice and clear skies. Youll definitely need your sunglasses during the day today. This is headed westbound towards the schuylkill expressway and 30th street station. You can see all traffic moving along nicely. A lot of times we start to see a delay over into the righthand lane. Thats getting off of the exit ramp towards the schuylkill or 30th street station there. We did take a look at the schuylkill expressway where we had an accident around the girard avenue on ramp headed to the schuylkill eastbound. We did have an off ramp blocked. Again, headed eastbound towards 95 on the vine right here, still looking okay. This is 295 right around the black horse pike over in bellmawr, new jersey. No problems either direction. Big day, we have both Democratic Candidates stumping here, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. Despite sanders big win last night in wisconsin, is he trailing Hillary Clinton in the delegate count. At this point, it would still be a long shot for him to win the nomination. Hillary clinton has 1,692 delegates. Bernie sanders has 1,027. To win the democratic nomination, 2,383 delegates are needed. Last night was also a big night for ted cruz who won the republican primary in wisconsin. Cruz calls his win a turning point for his campaign. Donald trump refused to give a concession speech and he is still leading the pack in delegates on the republican side. Trump has 753 delegates, cruz right now is in second with 514. John kasich follows with 143. The winner needs 1,237 delegates in order to clinch the republican nomination. We are just weeks away from the primaries in our area. Voters in pennsylvania and delaware head to the polls april 26th. New jersey voters make their choice on june 7th. In a motion filed last week on friday, prosecutors claim that former nbc 10 news anchor renee chenaultfattah helped disguise an 18,000 bribe as palt for the sale of her porsche. Prosecutors also said in that motion that in a recorded call she told an Insurance Company that she was keeping the car in her garage. Prosecutors hope to play that tape at her husbands trial next month. We asked congressman fattah about the new motion yesterday. The pennsylvania turnpike wants to make changes in response to the january blizzard that stranded hundreds of drivers. Yesterday turnpike officials released a report on what they will do to better manage traffic during weather emergencies. Officials may try to increase Truck Parking areas alongside the turnpike. Another idea, to have emergency supplies stashed in strategic locations so they can be quickly given out to any stranded drivers. Philadelphias mayor is the top public official in the city. Of course but hes not necessarily the highest paid. Turns out that distinction goes to medical examiner sam gulino who pulls in 260,000 a year. Police commissioner richard ross has the second biggest paycheck, making 240,000 a year. Third place goes to deputy medical examiner albert chu, making more than 231,000. Mayor kenney is in fourth place, his salary, 217,000 a year. The Mayors Office says it released the salary information yesterday in an effort to encourage transparency. Look at the 20s, low 20s at that for allentown and pottstown. Reports of a debris spill. You can see some of it sprays up as cars move through the airy. That is headed eastbound on the vine, headed towards 95. So thats where youre going to see maybe some delay but not really yet. Most of that delay still is headed westbound towards the schuylkill. Were expecting some visits from both of those Democratic Candidates. Well start with Hillary Clinton. Later this morning, secretary clinton will be addressing pac Union Leaders at a convention here at the sheraton. The pennsylvania afl cio says secretary clinton will speak before a crowd of about 1,000. Local Union Leadership says pennsylvania will play an Important Role in the election but havent decided which candidate theyll back. The afl cio will host senator sanders who just last night, as you mention, picked up that big win in wisconsin. Theyre hoping both candidates will take away a special knowledge of the issues that affect working families here in pennsylvania. Pennsylvania has some different nuances that other folks dont have. Both candidates have been great about listening to folks and talking to folks about whats important to working families. Here in philly, the dredging of the philadelphia port for the bigger ships from the panama canal will create thoughs of jobs. Sander has a rally planned for 8 00 tonight at Temple University. Hes set to discuss a wide range of issues such as Climate Change and his plan to make public colleges and universities tuitionfree. That event is free and open to the public. The doors open at 5 00. Sanders will also be meeting with africanamerican leaders at tinley United Methodist church. Voters will soon be weighing in on the president ial race. The president ial and delaware primaries are happening on april 26th. New jersey voters go to the polls on june 7th. New this morning, Philadelphia Police are investigating a shooting after bullets hit a house full of people. Thats right. One bullet shattered a front window, the other hit the front door of the home. Nbc 10s Deanna Durante is live this morning in logan with more on that Police Investigation and the victim who was hurt in all of this. Deanna . Reporter yes, pless have been interviewing witnesses and were told that 24yearold man is in stable condition at einstein hospital where he was able to go to on his own after being shot in the arm. Now, all this happened on the 1,000 block of wagner street sometime after 10 30 last night. Police say the victim was leaving a house on wagner street when possibly someone in a car drove by and fired those shots. A concern for investigators with be they say the house was full of people. We dont have a motive for the shooting at this time. But of the eight shots that were fired, two of the bullets entered the living room of the private residence that the victim had just left. One bullet went through the front door, another bullet went through the living room window. Inside the property at the time where the two bullets entered the living room, there were 12 people. There were also children in that house to make up that number 12 of the individuals inside. Were told about four kids, the youngest 6 months old. Investigators do say they have been able to talk to the 24yearold victim. So far, no one inside the house or victim has been able to give motive or indication as to why those shots were fired.
