Hard to see the building tops because we have low clouds and foggy conditions out there. Were especially foggy north of philadelphia throughout the suburbs, leely valley and berks county. Take a look. Still only an eighth of a mile in redding,. 25 mile in allentown. Trenton at three miles, philadelphia at five. Look south. Now that the rain has cleared, the fog has built back in. A quarter mile dover to millville. Still dealing with fog problems this morning and thats going to linger as we go through the rest of today. Radar and satellite shows we did have rain earlier today delaware to new jersey and thats what the fog is starting to build back in. Cloudy for the rest of today. First alert forecast the entire viewing area tonight and through tomorrow, well track that down hourbyhour coming up. Crystal, thank you. Bridge closed. That means traffic headaches for the more than 40,000 drivers who use the turnpike connector bridge every day. The bridge connects the pennsylvania and new jersey turnpikes between bucks and burlington counties. Matt delucia is on the bucks county side of things with more information on what drivers should do come tomorrow morning so they can avoid those headaches and long wait times. Mat. You just mentioned the numbers there. Some 42,000 vehicles go over this bridge every day. Right now not a car in site. Were underneath the bridge right now. This is where a lot of work has been going on through out the night and will continue for a few weeks to come. Under the bridge is where the action is this morning. Construction crews and engineers working in dense fog. The goal for now is to stabilize the Delaware River turnpike bridge and then make repairs. This is the problem. A fracture in a steel truss. It was discovered friday, and since then traffic has been shut off leaving drivers to find another way. Here i am. Trying to reach my family, how i can get back home. I think i have to take a twohour detour, back all the way almost to philly before i can find my way back home. Reporter the major concern now isnt the sunday drive, but the monday commute. Just fix it as fast as you can. Rick greenwald says the detours will cost him. An hour onto my day, my trucks, my guys, everything. Reporter the bridge connects the pennsylvania and new jersey turnpikes. Its bun up for more than 60 years. Susan christiansen lives near the bridge and now all the overnight construction. Thats a little distracting, but just as long as i know its being fixed. Reporter youre looking live at where the crack was found just up there underneath the tarp. Its actually just above that there on the other side of the bridge. New jersey Turnpike Authority says theyre trying to figure out how this happened. It could be weather or some other factor. We have a list of alternate routes you can take on nbc10. Com and the nbc 10 app. On that note, ive been talking with drivers this morning, some who dont even take this bridge. But their top concern is the bridges that they do take, the burlingtonbristol bridge and the other bridges that are in this area, that those might become more congested in the days to come because now you wont have those 42,000 vehicles going over this bridge. It happened just before 5 00 this morning at magnolia and east 6th streets. Officers found the victim shot in the head. We have been reaching out to police for more information and well bring it to you when we get it. In burlington county, police are investigating a deadly shooting in that area. A man was killed on east broad street in burlington just before 11 00 last night. Officers say the victim was shot in the chest. So far no arrests have been made. A Philadelphia Police officer is expected to be okay after this crash in west philadelphia. The officers car collided with another at 57th and gerard avenue around midnight. The other driver was also taken to the hospital. Philadelphias Chestnut Hill neighborhood is on edge today after a woman was sexually assaulted in her own home. Police say a man broke into her house on Chestnut Avenue and sexually assaulted the woman in front of her husband. It happened yesterday morning. The crime has shocked people who live and visit that neighborhood. I think its a remarkably friendly place. Im sorry to hear Something Like that happened. When i walk through this neighborhood, people make a point of saying good morning, good afternoon, good day. Investigators say the gunman stole the couples car, wallet and cell phone after the assault. New this morning, pennsylvanias new attorney general is cleaning house of several top aides to his convicted predecessor, kathleen kane. The Philadelphia Inquirer reports on friday, attorney general josh shapiro asked Ellen Granahan to resign, her twin sister ran the Child Predator unit for the ag. Four other members of her inner circle are also out. Last year a jury convicted kane of abusing her office to try to embarrass a political opponent. She was sentenced to 23 months in prison, shes free on bail pending an appeal. The Allentown School district plans to build two new schools by the year 2020. Cleveland and mckinley Elementary Schools will become one school. It should be completed by the year 2019. The school board already approved by landing. The district also wants to open a new middle school to replace Harrison Morton on second street. New this morning, President Trump just tweeted his reaction to the womens marches. He said, quote, peaceful protests are a hallmark of our democracy. Even though i dont always agree, i recognize the right for people to express their views. Earlier the white house released a statement saying the Trump Administration welcomes a robust scrugs regarding the Critical Issues facing americas women and families. Its a shame that the march for life happening next friday will not get anywhere near the same amount of coverage that this march got, and those pro life nu members were not welcome at the womans march. An estimated 50,000 people participated in the womens march on philadelphia yesterday. The crowd called attention to issues such as health care and the environment. Some marchers said theyre surprised President Trump was elected despite being accused of sexual assault. I cant believe it. Its insane to me. Where do we draw the line for the leaders of our country . To see a man that can disrespect women like that can have such power, how do i explain that to my daughter. Philadelphia police said the march was peaceful. At the womens march on washington, more than half a Million People turned out. I think we could see more in delaware and new jersey. Really overnight its scattered light to moderate showers. Thats at 1 00 a. M. We go 1 00 a. M. To 7 00 a. M. Your morning commute, its wet, but not the heavy rain quite yet. We need the storm to get closer to us. Now starting to see the heaviest rain near washington, d. C. And baltimore. Starting to spread to our region. There we go by monday afternoon, look at the yellows, oranges and reds. Cant rule out thunderstorm activity, isolated, with heavier periods of rain. Possibility of minor street flooding. We go throughout the evening hours, now 9 00 p. M. And we still have rain. But at this point its more of a light to moderate rain as things start to weaken overnight. As for the wind gusts, lets finish tracking them. 8 00 a. M. Monday morning, we see 40 to 50mileperhour gusts. As we get through the afternoon, 40 to 60mileperhour gusts around the shore. Those winds linger pretty strong into monday night. Tuesday Early Morning is when theyll start to weaken. Still breezy to windy as we go into tuesday morning. The problem with that, high tide along our shore points. Rehoboth beach, 4 13 tomorrow morning is the biggest concern of minor coastal flooding, especially the low lying roads that are more prone to seeing this happen. Cape may, 4 37, secondary threat, high tide at 4 54 in the afternoon. All of these periods of time were looking at are going to be a concern to see at least some minor coasting flooding. With that comes the beach erosion as well. Weve all seeing rain throughout tomorrow. What are the totals were talking about . Looking at parts of the suburbs, lehigh valley, berks county, maybe an inch or more. Total accumulation, from tonight into early tuesday. 1 to 1. 5 in philadelphia and central new jersey.
