So far no arrests. This morning we are hearing from a Good Samaritan who rescued a driver just moments before his car burst spoke flames in camden county. Shaw was driving along new brooklyn aerial road in winslow township when the car hit a tree. Shaw saw what happened, borrowed an axe from a neighbor and began hitting the door of the car. Trying to get that door open, pry it up. Just hammering with the axe on that door. Uhhuh. The fire is right here, im here. Two other Good Samaritans ripped out the window and pulled the driver out. Hes in the hospital in critical condition. Philadelphia Police Looking for a second man involved in an attack using a screwdriver and baseball bat. The victim was outside a tattoo shop in ken singleton. The victim went to the hospital. More than two dozen dogs and cats living cleaner lives this morning. The spca rescued them from a filthy home. They were in holmesburg where animal control officers removed the pets. They showed up after they got a tip from the police the dogs and cats were living in unsafe conditions. Addiction is widely considered a disease among experts in the field so why hasnt the way its treated caught up . Patty spent seven years fighting two battles, once again her heroin addiction and the other against the stigma that came with it. Patty and her daughter blake tried dozens of times to find treatment that was the right fit for what sal needed but every time it ended quickly because of insurance trouble. In the middle of sals addiction patty had her own crisis, she was diagnosed with stage 4 Breast Cancer. Patty eventually beat her cancer but sal did not beat his addiction, he died of Drug Overdose at age 26. The disparity in is not lost on patty. My feeling is i shouldnt be here. My son lost his life to addiction and i had Breast Cancer and im till here. I had all the help i needed. Every door opened for me once i was diagnosed. It didnt happen to them. Doors shut in his face once you said heroin. Since sal died patty dedicated herself to talk about addiction andiers to care so more young people dont lose their life.
