Across the map as we get into the later part of today, were talking 60s and philly and south, 70s are in the forecast. Radar and satellite. Already we have got more thick cloud coverage building in north and west. That will continue spreading across the board. Today will actually be mostly cloudy. While temperatures will be nice, it wont necessarily be a sunny day. Still, you can get outside. Just some isolated rain showers in the forecast as we move forward. President trump was handed a defeat when his bill to repeal and replace obamacare got pulled from the house floor late yesterday. The last seven years, republicans have been vowing to kill president obamas Signature Health care law, but in the end the same republicans couldnt agree on how to do it, what should be in the bill, what should be out of it. They shelved it after failing to muster enough support to pass the bill, despite days of appeals and negotiating from the president. This is a disappointing day for us. Doing big things is hard. Were going to go back and figure out what the next steps are. President trump blames the defeat on a lack of bipartisan support and predicts that obamacare will explode, forcing democrats back to the negotiating table. Losers are nancy pelosi and chuck schumer, because now they own obamacare. They own it. A day of victory for the Affordable Care act. More importantly, for the american people. The president is now moving on to tax reform, another one of his promises from the campaign trail. There is an investigation into why the Trump Administration pulled advertising for healthcare. Gov. The website where you can sign up for the Affordable Care act. Democrats have called the move sabotage. But Administration Officials say the ads were a waste of taxpayer dollars. The federal Inspector General has begun a review of the administrations actions including the effect on enrollment. A little bit more than 12 Million People signed up for coverage this year. In other news in our area today, family, friends and Community Members will be remembering a 13yearold boy who died after he was shot inside a philadelphia takeout restaurant. Theyll hold a candlelight vigil in memory. Khiseer davispapther. Somebody shot him two weeks ago at the goldfish restaurant in the citys nicetown neighborhood and he died nine days later. Police are still searching for the killer. His family is asking for answers. They didnt have to shoot him. He was only 13. He is a kid. This has hit the family pretty hard. We are all together. We stay in contact with each other, call each other to make sure everybody is all right. Police hope this surveillance image will help them track down the person who killed the teen. Heading now to south jerzy. Burlington county. Police are trying to piece together a murder mystery. Sasikala narra and her 6yearold son anish were stabbed multiple times at their house at the fox meadow apartments in maple shade. The husband found their bodies when he came home from work thursday night. Neighbors are in disbelieve. I am horrified. You dont expect this right outside your front door, you know. And then you hear of a child being involved. Thats horrible. Investigators spent hours searching for evidence and clues yesterday. A source confirms theyve not recovered the murder weapon in this case. Today, a West PhiladelphiaHigh School Student honored for his actions after stepping up to defend his teacher against an angry crowd in school. Richard williams receives the local hero award tonight. The ninth grader ended up in the hospital last year after he tried to protect a teacher at motivation high school. The teacher was trying to break up a fight when the crowd turned on him. Williams recovered from his injuries. Also today, family and friends saying goodbye to a music legend. We are family we all know that song. Funeral services are set this morning for joanie sledge of the philadelphia Singing Group sister sledge. The service will be held at Deliverance Evangelistic Church on wesley high avenue 9 00 this morning. If you didnt know, sledge was born in philly and earned her degree in communications from Temple University before she went on to become part of the famous Singing Group. She died in her home in arizona on march 10th at the age of 60. They ran right to that. The fire was overwhelming. Amtraks express and northeast Regional Service are also expected to run on normal schedules today. Septa trains will not be running normally. No Regional Rail service between elwyn and University City today and tomorrow and buses will replace the trains. All because of a structural repair issue on the cobbs creek viaduct. The buses will be identified with rail shutter signs. Neighbors calling it an heroic rescue in Delaware County. Police officers put their lives on the line to save a woman trapped inside a burning home. Drew smith has the story from aston. Reporter the damage shows how intense the fire was. Doors were not an option for the people trapped in this fire. I couldnt gain access anywhere. The flames were overwhelming. Reporter the darkness of 4 30 a. M. Suddenly lit up by shooting flames. Ed young says he immediately tried to help his trapped neighbors. A man and his wife, who managed to break through a front window on their own, but it was around back where another woman was stuck. The woman was unconscious. And the flames were licking at her. Reporter police were first on the scene, quickly followed by firefighters. Jeffrey stewart said the officers ran around the back while he went in the front. I forced the front door. Tried to make access. I was met with heavy fire conditions. Reporter stewart was hurt in the rescue attempt. A burn to his arm. Officers faced several obstacles in the back. I picked up the officer and pushed him over the fence. Reporter another officer followed and young threw them a stepladder so they could smash the window. Saving the womans life. Reporter some pets didnt make it out. Young says, if they had waited seconds longer the fire would have claimed a human life. Aston police officers, the bravest there are. They got here and did not hesitate to run towards that fire. Investigators are trying to figure out exactly what sparked the inferno. Sky force ten was over the smoke and flames last night in croydon. Officials say it started after 5 00 yesterday afternoon at the Metal Finishing corporation. Fortunately nobody was hurt here, Nobody Needed to be rescued. Crews were busy battling the fire for a few hours before they were able to get it under control. Lets head to the south. Were learning this morning a small plane that crashed into a home near atlanta took off from wilmington. The plane suddenly spiralled to the ground. The pilot was killed in the crash. Nobody in the home was hurt. The faa and ntsb are investigating. Harrison forwad says he was distracted when he flew over a plane filled with passengers. He was supposed to land on a runway but mistakenly landed on a taxiway. Philadelphia police officers, making some new friends. Its all part of a program to mentor young kids. Yesterday the department launched the bigs in blue program organized by big brothers and big sisters. Officers will be mentoring students in four Public Schools throughout the city. Weve got a lot going on with the weather pattern. First off, you can see the clouds increasing across the map as we go through the morning hours. That will lead to a mostly cloudy day for us. Not a lot of sunshine, but still a warm forecast as the air is pumping in from the southwest. That drives in warmer air. Also notice, you see some of the green now showing up on the radar returns. I dont think this is rain actually making it to the ground, but it shows us that we have a lot of moisture in the clouds that well tap into as we go through the day and the next several days. Now, down south its actually bringing strong to severe thunderstorm activity. We are not expecting that, were expecting on off rain chances into the earlier part of the week monday, tuesday. Low 40s in the Lehigh Valley and low 50s in new jersey and delaware. 67 in trenton as well as Atlantic City. And some low to even mid 70s are possible over parts of delaware today. So we have 70s on the board today, and we are tracking what will be a big change for sunday. Here it is. Warming up today. We see the green. That usually indicates warmer air on the board. To the north we have a cold front and cooler air. Right now the warm coming in from the southwest. But things are going to change. The winds will change. Thats going to drive right in that cooler air. Now in the afternoon saturday, cool air is trying to start to creep in from the north. And push that warmer air down farther south. It continues from 4 00 p. M. Through to tomorrow morning. Cool air settling in now and winds driving in from the east. When you have winds coming from the east its hard to warm up. Instead, the cold front will stick down to the south. Well hold on to cooler air and your sunday is looking a lot different than today will. Instead. Highs in the 40s.
